H5927 Go up [H8798]   H2518 to Hilkiah H1419 the high H3548 priest H8552 , that he may sum [H8686]   H3701 the silver H935 which is brought [H8716]   H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD H8104 , which the keepers [H8802]   H5592 of the door H622 have gathered [H8804]   H5971 of the people:
H5414 And let them deliver [H8799]   H3027 it into the hand H6213 of the doers [H8802]   H4399 of the work H6485 , that have the oversight [H8716]   H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD H5414 : and let them give [H8799]   H6213 it to the doers [H8802]   H4399 of the work H1004 which is in the house H3068 of the LORD H2388 , to repair [H8763]   H919 the breaches H1004 of the house,

H2803 Howbeit there was no reckoning made [H8735]   H3701 with them of the money H5414 that was delivered [H8737]   H3027 into their hand H6213 , because they dealt [H8802]   H530 faithfully.
H2518 And Hilkiah H1419 the high H3548 priest H559 said [H8799]   H8227 unto Shaphan H5608 the scribe [H8802]   H4672 , I have found [H8804]   H5612 the book H8451 of the law H1004 in the house H3068 of the LORD H2518 . And Hilkiah H5414 gave [H8799]   H5612 the book H8227 to Shaphan H7121 , and he read [H8799]   it.
H8227 And Shaphan H5608 the scribe [H8802]   H935 came [H8799]   H4428 to the king H7725 , and brought H4428 the king H1697 word H7725 again [H8686]   H559 , and said [H8799]   H5650 , Thy servants H5413 have gathered [H8689]   H3701 the money H4672 that was found [H8737]   H1004 in the house H5414 , and have delivered [H8799]   H3027 it into the hand H6213 of them that do [H8802]   H4399 the work H6485 , that have the oversight [H8716]   H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD.
H8227 And Shaphan H5608 the scribe [H8802]   H5046 shewed [H8686]   H4428 the king H559 , saying [H8800]   H2518 , Hilkiah H3548 the priest H5414 hath delivered [H8804]   H5612 me a book H8227 . And Shaphan H7121 read [H8799]   H6440 it before H4428 the king.
H4428 And it came to pass, when the king H8085 had heard [H8800]   H1697 the words H5612 of the book H8451 of the law H7167 , that he rent [H8799]   H899 his clothes.
H4428 And the king H6680 commanded [H8762]   H2518 Hilkiah H3548 the priest H296 , and Ahikam H1121 the son H8227 of Shaphan H5907 , and Achbor H1121 the son H4320 of Michaiah H8227 , and Shaphan H5608 the scribe [H8802]   H6222 , and Asahiah H5650 a servant H4428 of the king's H559 , saying [H8800]  ,
H3212 Go [H8798]   H1875 ye, enquire [H8798]   H3068 of the LORD H5971 for me, and for the people H3063 , and for all Judah H1697 , concerning the words H5612 of this book H4672 that is found [H8737]   H1419 : for great H2534 is the wrath H3068 of the LORD H3341 that is kindled [H8738]   H1 against us, because our fathers H8085 have not hearkened [H8804]   H1697 unto the words H5612 of this book H6213 , to do [H8800]   H3789 according unto all that which is written [H8803]   concerning us.
H2518 So Hilkiah H3548 the priest H296 , and Ahikam H5907 , and Achbor H8227 , and Shaphan H6222 , and Asahiah H3212 , went [H8799]   H2468 unto Huldah H5031 the prophetess H802 , the wife H7967 of Shallum H1121 the son H8616 of Tikvah H1121 , the son H2745 of Harhas H8104 , keeper [H8802]   H899 of the wardrobe H3427 ; (now she dwelt [H8802]   H3389 in Jerusalem H4932 in the college H1696 ;) and they communed [H8762]   with her.
H559 And she said [H8799]   H559 unto them, Thus saith [H8804]   H3068 the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel H559 , Tell [H8798]   H376 the man H7971 that sent [H8804]   you to me,
H559 Thus saith [H8804]   H3068 the LORD H935 , Behold, I will bring [H8688]   H7451 evil H4725 upon this place H3427 , and upon the inhabitants [H8802]   H1697 thereof, even all the words H5612 of the book H4428 which the king H3063 of Judah H7121 hath read [H8804]  :
H5800 Because they have forsaken [H8804]   H6999 me, and have burned incense [H8762]   H312 unto other H430 gods H3707 , that they might provoke me to anger [H8687]   H4639 with all the works H3027 of their hands H2534 ; therefore my wrath H3341 shall be kindled [H8738]   H4725 against this place H3518 , and shall not be quenched [H8799]  .
H4428 But to the king H3063 of Judah H7971 which sent [H8802]   H1875 you to enquire [H8800]   H3068 of the LORD H559 , thus shall ye say [H8799]   H559 to him, Thus saith [H8804]   H3068 the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel H1697 , As touching the words H8085 which thou hast heard [H8804]  ;
H3824 Because thine heart H7401 was tender [H8804]   H3665 , and thou hast humbled [H8735]   H6440 thyself before H3068 the LORD H8085 , when thou heardest [H8800]   H1696 what I spake [H8765]   H4725 against this place H3427 , and against the inhabitants [H8802]   H8047 thereof, that they should become a desolation H7045 and a curse H7167 , and hast rent [H8799]   H899 thy clothes H1058 , and wept [H8799]   H6440 before H8085 me; I also have heard [H8804]   H5002 thee, saith [H8803]   H3068 the LORD.
H622 Behold therefore, I will gather [H8802]   H1 thee unto thy fathers H622 , and thou shalt be gathered [H8738]   H6913 into thy grave H7965 in peace H5869 ; and thine eyes H7200 shall not see [H8799]   H7451 all the evil H935 which I will bring [H8688]   H4725 upon this place H7725 . And they brought H4428 the king H1697 word H7725 again [H8686]  .
KJV(i) 1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath. 2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left. 3 And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the LORD, saying, 4 Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the silver which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of the door have gathered of the people: 5 And let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD: and let them give it to the doers of the work which is in the house of the LORD, to repair the breaches of the house, 6 Unto carpenters, and builders, and masons, and to buy timber and hewn stone to repair the house. 7 Howbeit there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand, because they dealt faithfully. 8 And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it. 9 And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD. 10 And Shaphan the scribe showed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king. 11 And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes. 12 And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asahiah a servant of the king's, saying, 13 Go ye, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us. 14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her. 15 And she said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Tell the man that sent you to me, 16 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read: 17 Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched. 18 But to the king of Judah which sent you to enquire of the LORD, thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, As touching the words which thou hast heard; 19 Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the LORD, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the LORD. 20 Behold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.
