Genesis 32:3-28

  3 H3290 And Jacob H7971 sent H4397 messengers H6440 before him H6215 to Esau H251 his brother H776 unto the land H8165 of Seir, H7704 the field H123 of Edom.
  4 H6680 And he commanded H559 them, saying, H559 Thus shall ye say H113 unto my lord H6215 Esau: H559 Thus saith H5650 thy servant H3290 Jacob, H1481 I have sojourned H3837 with Laban, H309 and stayed until now:
  5 H7794 and I have oxen, H2543 and asses, H6629 and flocks, H5650 and men-servants, H8198 and maid-servants: H7971 and I have sent H5046 to tell H113 my lord, H4672 that I may find H2580 favor H5869 in thy sight.
  6 H4397 And the messengers H7725 returned H3290 to Jacob, H559 saying, H935 We came H251 to thy brother H6215 Esau, H1980 and moreover he cometh H7125 to meet thee, H3967 and four hundred H376 men with him.
  7 H3290 Then Jacob H3966 was greatly H3372 afraid H3334 and was distressed: H2673 and he divided H5971 the people H6629 that were with him, and the flocks, H1241 and the herds, H1581 and the camels, H8147 into two H4264 companies;
  8 H559 and he said, H6215 If Esau H935 come H259 to the one H4264 company, H5221 and smite it, H4264 then the company H7604 which is left H6413 shall escape.
  9 H3290 And Jacob H559 said, H430 O God H1 of my father H85 Abraham, H430 and God H1 of my father H3327 Isaac, H3068 O Jehovah, H559 who saidst H7725 unto me, Return H776 unto thy country, H4138 and to thy kindred, H3190 and I will do thee good:
  10 H6994 I am not worthy of the least H2617 of all the lovingkindnesses, H571 and of all the truth, H6213 which thou hast showed H5650 unto thy servant; H4731 for with my staff H5674 I passed over H3383 this Jordan; H8147 and now I am become two H4264 companies.
  11 H5337 Deliver me, H3027 I pray thee, from the hand H251 of my brother, H3027 from the hand H6215 of Esau: H3373 for I fear H935 him, lest he come H5221 and smite me, H517 the mother H5921 with H1121 the children.
  12 H559 And thou saidst, H3190 I will surely H3190 do thee good, H7760 and make H2233 thy seed H2344 as the sand H3220 of the sea, H5608 which cannot be numbered H7230 for multitude.
  13 H3885 And he lodged H3915 there that night, H3947 and took H935 of that which he had H3027 with him H4503 a present H6215 for Esau H251 his brother:
  14 H3967 two hundred H5795 she-goats H6242 and twenty H8495 he-goats, H3967 two hundred H7353 ewes H6242 and twenty H352 rams,
  15 H7970 thirty H3243 milch H1581 camels H1121 and their colts, H705 forty H6510 cows H6235 and ten H6499 bulls, H6242 twenty H860 she-asses H6235 and ten H5895 foals.
  16 H5414 And he delivered H3027 them into the hand H5650 of his servants, H5739 every drove H559 by itself, and said H5650 unto his servants, H5674 Pass over H6440 before me, H7760 and put H7305 a space H996 betwixt H5739 drove H996 and H5739 drove.
  17 H6680 And he commanded H7223 the foremost, H559 saying, H6215 When Esau H251 my brother H6298 meeteth thee, H7592 and asketh thee, H559 saying, H3212 Whose art thou? and whither goest H6440 thou? and whose are these before thee?
  18 H559 then thou shalt say, H5650 They are thy servant H3290 Jacob's; H4503 it is a present H7971 sent H113 unto my lord H6215 Esau: H310 and, behold, he also is behind us.
  19 H6680 And he H1571 commanded also H8145 the second, H7992 and the third, H1980 and all that followed H5739 the droves, H559 saying, H1697 On this manner H1696 shall ye speak H6215 unto Esau, H4672 when ye find him;
  20 H559 and ye H1571 shall say, Moreover, H5650 behold, thy servant H3290 Jacob H310 is behind us. H559 For he said, H3722 I will appease H6440 him H4503 with the present H1980 that goeth H6440 before me, H310 and afterward H7200 I will see H6440 his face; H5375 peradventure he will accept H6440 me.
  21 H5674 So H4503 the present H5674 passed over H6440 before him: H3885 and he himself lodged H3915 that night H4264 in the company.
  22 H6965 And he rose up H3915 that night, H3947 and took H8147 his two H802 wives, H8147 and his two H8198 handmaids, H6240 and his eleven H3206 children, H5674 and passed over H4569 the ford H2999 of the Jabbok.
  23 H3947 And he took them, H5674 and sent them over H5158 the stream, H5674 and sent over that which he had.
  24 H3290 And Jacob H3498 was left H79 alone; and there wrestled H376 a man H5927 with him until the breaking H7837 of the day.
  25 H7200 And when he saw H3201 that he prevailed H5060 not against him, he touched H3409 the hollow of his thigh; H3709 and the hollow H3290 of Jacob's H3409 thigh H3363 was strained, H79 as he wrestled with him.
  26 H559 And he said, H7971 Let me go, H7837 for the day H5927 breaketh. H559 And he said, H7971 I will not let thee go, H518 except H1288 thou bless me.
  27 H559 And he said H8034 unto him, What is thy name? H559 And he said, H3290 Jacob.
  28 H559 And he said, H8034 Thy name H559 shall be called H3290 no more Jacob, H3478 but Israel: H8280 for thou hast striven H430 with God H582 and with men, H3201 and hast prevailed.
