Joshua 22:22-33 The LORD God of gods , the LORD God of gods , he knoweth , and Israel he shall know ; if it be in rebellion , or if in transgression against the LORD , (save us not this day,)

23 H1129 That we have built [H8800] H4196 us an altar H7725 to turn [H8800] H310 from following H3068 the LORD H5927 , or if to offer [H8687] H5930 thereon burnt offering H4503 or meat offering H6213 , or if to offer [H8800] H8002 peace H2077 offerings H3068 thereon, let the LORD H1245 himself require [H8762] it;

24 H6213 And if we have not rather done [H8804] H1674 it for fear H1697 of this thing H559 , saying [H8800] H4279 , In time to come H1121 your children H559 might speak [H8799] H1121 unto our children H559 , saying [H8800] H3068 , What have ye to do with the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel?

25 H3068 For the LORD H5414 hath made [H8804] H3383 Jordan H1366 a border H1121 between us and you, ye children H7205 of Reuben H1121 and children H1410 of Gad H2506 ; ye have no part H3068 in the LORD H1121 : so shall your children H7673 make H1121 our children H7673 cease [H8689] H1115 from H3372 fearing [H8800] H3068 the LORD.

26 H559 Therefore we said [H8799] H6213 , Let us now prepare [H8799] H1129 to build [H8800] H4196 us an altar H5930 , not for burnt offering H2077 , nor for sacrifice:

27 H5707 But that it may be a witness H1755 between us, and you, and our generations H310 after H5647 us, that we might do [H8800] H5656 the service H3068 of the LORD H6440 before H5930 him with our burnt offerings H2077 , and with our sacrifices H8002 , and with our peace offerings H1121 ; that your children H559 may not say [H8799] H1121 to our children H4279 in time to come H2506 , Ye have no part H3068 in the LORD.

28 H559 Therefore said [H8799] H559 we, that it shall be, when they should so say [H8799] H1755 to us or to our generations H4279 in time to come H559 , that we may say [H8804] H7200 again, Behold [H8798] H8403 the pattern H4196 of the altar H3068 of the LORD H1 , which our fathers H6213 made [H8804] H5930 , not for burnt offerings H2077 , nor for sacrifices H5707 ; but it is a witness between us and you.

29 H2486 God forbid H4775 that we should rebel [H8800] H3068 against the LORD H7725 , and turn [H8800] H3117 this day H310 from following H3068 the LORD H1129 , to build [H8800] H4196 an altar H5930 for burnt offerings H4503 , for meat offerings H2077 , or for sacrifices H4196 , beside the altar H3068 of the LORD H430 our God H6440 that is before H4908 his tabernacle.

30 H6372 And when Phinehas H3548 the priest H5387 , and the princes H5712 of the congregation H7218 and heads H505 of the thousands H3478 of Israel H8085 which were with him, heard [H8799] H1697 the words H1121 that the children H7205 of Reuben H1121 and the children H1410 of Gad H1121 and the children H4519 of Manasseh H1696 spake [H8765] H3190 , it pleased [H8799] H5869 them.

31 H6372 And Phinehas H1121 the son H499 of Eleazar H3548 the priest H559 said [H8799] H1121 unto the children H7205 of Reuben H1121 , and to the children H1410 of Gad H1121 , and to the children H4519 of Manasseh H3117 , This day H3045 we perceive [H8804] H3068 that the LORD H8432 is among H4603 us, because ye have not committed [H8804] H4604 this trespass H3068 against the LORD H227 : now H5337 ye have delivered [H8689] H1121 the children H3478 of Israel H3027 out of the hand H3068 of the LORD.

32 H6372 And Phinehas H1121 the son H499 of Eleazar H3548 the priest H5387 , and the princes H7725 , returned [H8799] H1121 from the children H7205 of Reuben H1121 , and from the children H1410 of Gad H776 , out of the land H1568 of Gilead H776 , unto the land H3667 of Canaan H1121 , to the children H3478 of Israel H7725 , and brought H1697 them word H7725 again [H8686] .

33 H1697 And the thing H3190 pleased [H8799] H5869 H1121 the children H3478 of Israel H1121 ; and the children H3478 of Israel H1288 blessed [H8762] H430 God H559 , and did not intend [H8804] H5927 to go up [H8800] H6635 against them in battle H7843 , to destroy [H8763] H776 the land H1121 wherein the children H7205 of Reuben H1410 and Gad H3427 dwelt [H8802] .
