Numbers 27 Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.

2 H5975 And they stood H6440 before H4872 Moses, H6440 and before H499 Eleazar H3548 the priest, H6440 and before H5387 the princes H5712 and all the congregation, H6607 by the door H168 of the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation, H559 saying,

3 H1 Our father H4191 died H4057 in the wilderness, H8432 and he was not in H5712 the company H3259 of them that gathered themselves together H3068 against the Lord H5712 in the company H7141 of Korah; H4191 but died H2399 in his own sin, H1121 and had no sons.

4 H8034 Why should the name H1 of our father H1639 be done away H8432 from among H4940 his family, H1121 because he has no son? H5414 Give H272 unto us therefore a possession H8432 among H251 the brothers H1 of our father.

5 H4872 And Moses H7126 brought H4941 their cause H6440 before H3068 the Lord.

6 H3068 And the Lord H559 spoke H4872 unto Moses, H559 saying,

7 H1323 The daughters H6765 of Zelophehad H1696 speak H3651 right: H5414 you shall surely H5414 give H272 them a possession H5159 of an inheritance H8432 among H1 their father's H251 brothers; H5159 and you shall cause the inheritance H1 of their father H5674 to pass unto them.

8 H1696 And you shall speak H1121 unto the sons H3478 of Israel, H559 saying, H376 If a man H4191 die, H1121 and have no son, H5159 then you shall cause his inheritance H5674 to pass H1323 unto his daughter.

9 H1323 And if he have no daughter, H5414 then you shall give H5159 his inheritance H251 unto his brothers.

10 H251 And if he have no brothers, H5414 then you shall give H5159 his inheritance H1 unto his father's H251 brothers.

11 H1 And if his father H251 have no brothers, H5414 then you shall give H5159 his inheritance H7607 unto his kinsman H7138 that is next H4940 to him of his family, H3423 and he shall possess H1121 it: and it shall be unto the sons H3478 of Israel H2708 a statute H4941 of judgment, H3068 as the Lord H6680 commanded H4872 Moses.

12 H3068 And the Lord H559 said H4872 unto Moses, H5927 Get you up H2022 into this mountain H5682 Abarim, H7200 and see H776 the land H5414 which I have given H1121 unto the sons H3478 of Israel.

13 H7200 And when you have seen H622 it, you also shall be gathered H5971 unto your people, H175 as Aaron H251 your brother H622 was gathered.

14 H4784 For you rebelled H6310 against my commandment H4057 in the desert H6790 of Zin, H4808 in the strife H5712 of the congregation, H6942 to sanctify H4325 me at the water H5869 before their eyes: H4325 that is the water H4809 of Meribah H6946 in Kadesh H4057 in the wilderness H6790 of Zin.

15 H4872 And Moses H1696 spoke H3068 unto the Lord, H559 saying,

16 H3068 Let the Lord, H430 the God H7307 of the spirits H1320 of all flesh, H6485 set H376 a man H5712 over the congregation,

17 H3318 Which may go out H6440 before H935 them, and which may go in H6440 before H3318 them, and which may lead them out, H935 and which may bring them in; H5712 that the congregation H3068 of the Lord H6629 be not as sheep H7462 which have no shepherd.

18 H3068 And the Lord H559 said H4872 unto Moses, H3947 Take H3091 you Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun, H376 a man H7307 in whom is the spirit, H5564 and lay H3027 your hand upon him;

19 H5975 And set H6440 him before H499 Eleazar H3548 the priest, H6440 and before H5712 all the congregation; H6680 and give him a charge H5869 in their sight.

20 H5414 And you shall put H1935 some of your honor H5712 upon him, that all the congregation H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel H8085 may be obedient.

21 H5975 And he shall stand H6440 before H499 Eleazar H3548 the priest, H7592 who shall ask H4941 counsel for him after the judgment H224 of Urim H6440 before H3068 the Lord: H6310 at his word H3318 shall they go out, H6310 and at his word H935 they shall come in, H1121 both he, and all the sons H3478 of Israel H5712 with him, even all the congregation.

22 H4872 And Moses H6213 did H3068 as the Lord H6680 commanded H3947 him: and he took H3091 Joshua, H5975 and set H6440 him before H499 Eleazar H3548 the priest, H6440 and before H5712 all the congregation:

23 H5564 And he laid H3027 his hands H6680 upon him, and gave him a charge, H3068 as the Lord H1696 commanded H3027 by the hand H4872 of Moses.
