Zechariah 7 And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of Jehovah came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chislev.

1 H702 And it came to pass in the fourth H8141 year H4428 of king H1867 Darius, H1697 that the word H3068 of Jehovah H2148 came unto Zechariah H702 in the fourth H8671 day of the ninth H2320 month, H3691 even in Chislev.

2 H1004 Now they of Beth - H410 el H7971 had sent H8272 Sharezer H7278 and Regem-melech, H582 and their men, H2470 to entreat H6440 the favor H3068 of Jehovah,

3 H559 and to speak H3548 unto the priests H1004 of the house H3068 of Jehovah H6635 of hosts, H5030 and to the prophets, H559 saying, H1058 Should I weep H2549 in the fifth H2320 month, H5144 separating H6213 myself, as I have done H8141 these so many years?

4 H1697 Then came the word H3068 of Jehovah H6635 of hosts H559 unto me, saying,

5 H559 Speak H5971 unto all the people H776 of the land, H3548 and to the priests, H559 saying, H6684 When ye fasted H5594 and mourned H2549 in the fifth H7637 and in the seventh H7657 month, even these seventy H8141 years, H6684 did ye at all H6684 fast unto me, even to me?

6 H398 And when ye eat, H8354 and when ye drink, H398 do not ye eat H8354 for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?

7 H1697 Should ye not hear the words H3068 which Jehovah H7121 cried H3027 by H7223 the former H5030 prophets, H3389 when Jerusalem H3427 was inhabited H7961 and in prosperity, H5892 and the cities H5439 thereof round about her, H5045 and the South H8219 and the lowland H3427 were inhabited?

8 H1697 And the word H3068 of Jehovah H2148 came unto Zechariah, H559 saying,

9 H3068 Thus hath Jehovah H6635 of hosts H559 spoken, H559 saying, H8199 Execute H571 true H4941 judgment, H6213 and show H2617 kindness H7356 and compassion H376 every man H251 to his brother;

10 H6231 and oppress H490 not the widow, H3490 nor the fatherless, H1616 the sojourner, H6041 nor the poor; H2803 and let none of you devise H7451 evil H376 against H251 his brother H3824 in your heart.

11 H3985 But they refused H7181 to hearken, H5414 and pulled away H3802 the shoulder, H3513 and stopped H241 their ears, H8085 that they might not hear.

12 H7760 Yea, they made H3820 their hearts H8068 as an adamant stone, H8085 lest they should hear H8451 the law, H1697 and the words H3068 which Jehovah H6635 of hosts H7971 had sent H7307 by his Spirit H3027 by H7223 the former H5030 prophets: H1419 therefore there came great H7110 wrath H3068 from Jehovah H6635 of hosts.

13 H7121 And it is come to pass that, as he cried, H8085 and they would not hear, H7121 so they shall cry, H8085 and I will not hear, H559 said H3068 Jehovah H6635 of hosts;

14 H5590 but I will scatter them with a whirlwind H1471 among all the nations H3045 which they have not known. H776 Thus the land H8074 was desolate H310 after H5674 them, so that no man passed through H7725 nor returned: H7760 for they laid H2532 the pleasant H776 land H8047 desolate.
