Genesis 39:1-23 And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.

1 H3130 And Joseph H3381 was brought H3381 down H4714 to Egypt; H6318 and Potiphar, H5631 an officer H6547 of Pharaoh, H8269 captain H2876 of the guard, H4713 an Egyptian, H7069 bought H3027 him of the hands H3459 of the Ishmeelites, H834 which H3381 had brought H3381 him down H8033 thither.

2 H3068 And the LORD H3130 was with Joseph, H6743 and he was a prosperous H376 man; H1004 and he was in the house H113 of his master H4713 the Egyptian.

3 H113 And his master H7200 saw H3068 that the LORD H3068 was with him, and that the LORD H3605 made all H6213 that he did H6743 to prosper H3027 in his hand.

4 H3130 And Joseph H4672 found H2580 grace H5869 in his sight, H8334 and he served H6485 him: and he made him overseer H5921 over H1004 his house, H3605 and all H3426 that he had H5414 he put H3027 into his hand.

5 H1961 And it came H3426 to pass from the time that he had H6485 made him overseer H1004 in his house, H5921 and over H3605 all H3426 that he had, H3068 that the LORD H1288 blessed H4713 the Egyptian’s H1004 house H3130 for Joseph’s H1558 sake; H1293 and the blessing H3068 of the LORD H3605 was on all H3426 that he had H1004 in the house, H7704 and in the field.

6 H5800 And he left H3605 all H3130 that he had in Joseph’s H3027 hand; H3045 and he knew H3972 not ought H3588 he had, save H518 H3899 the bread H834 which H398 he did eat. H3130 And Joseph H3303 was a goodly H8389 H3303 person, and well H4758 favored.

7 H1961 And it came H310 to pass after H428 these H1697 things, H113 that his master’s H802 wife H5375 cast H5869 her eyes H3130 on Joseph; H559 and she said, H7901 Lie with me.

8 H3985 But he refused, H559 and said H113 to his master’s H802 wife, H2005 Behold, H113 my master H3045 wotteth H4100 not what H1004 is with me in the house, H5414 and he has committed H3605 all H3426 that he has H3027 to my hand;

9 H369 There is none H1419 greater H2088 in this H1004 house H4480 than H3808 I; neither H2820 has he kept H2820 back H3972 any H3972 thing H834 from me but you, because H802 you are his wife: H349 how H6213 then can I do H2063 this H1419 great H7451 wickedness, H2398 and sin H430 against God?

10 H1961 And it came H1696 to pass, as she spoke H3130 to Joseph H3117 day H3117 by day, H8085 that he listened H7901 not to her, to lie by her, or to be with her.

11 H1961 And it came H2088 to pass about this H3117 time, H935 that Joseph went H1004 into the house H6213 to do H4399 his business; H369 and there was none H582 of the men H1004 of the house H8033 there H1004 within.

12 H8610 And she caught H899 him by his garment, H559 saying, H7901 Lie H5800 with me: and he left H899 his garment H3027 in her hand, H5127 and fled, H3318 and got him out.

13 H1961 And it came H7200 to pass, when she saw H5800 that he had left H899 his garment H3027 in her hand, H5127 and was fled H2351 forth,

14 H7121 That she called H582 to the men H1004 of her house, H559 and spoke H559 to them, saying, H7200 See, H935 he has brought H5680 in an Hebrew H6711 to us to mock H935 us; he came H7901 in to me to lie H7121 with me, and I cried H1419 with a loud H6963 voice:

15 H1961 And it came H8085 to pass, when he heard H7311 that I lifted H6963 up my voice H7121 and cried, H5800 that he left H899 his garment H5127 with me, and fled, H3318 and got him out.

16 H5117 And she laid H899 up his garment H5704 by her, until H113 his lord H935 came H1004 home.

17 H1696 And she spoke H428 to him according to these H1697 words, H559 saying, H5680 The Hebrew H5650 servant, H834 which H935 you have brought H935 to us, came H6711 in to me to mock me:

18 H1961 And it came H7311 to pass, as I lifted H6963 up my voice H7121 and cried, H5800 that he left H899 his garment H5127 with me, and fled out.

19 H1961 And it came H113 to pass, when his master H8085 heard H1697 the words H802 of his wife, H834 which H1696 she spoke H559 to him, saying, H428 After this H1697 manner H6213 did H5650 your servant H639 to me; that his wrath H2734 was kindled.

20 H3130 And Joseph’s H113 master H3947 took H5414 him, and put H413 him into H1004 the prison, H5470 H4725 a place H834 where H4428 the king’s H615 prisoners H631 were bound: H8033 and he was there H1004 in the prison. H5470

21 H3068 But the LORD H3130 was with Joseph, H5186 and showed H2617 him mercy, H5414 and gave H2580 him favor H5869 in the sight H8269 of the keeper H1004 of the prison.

22 H8269 And the keeper H1004 of the prison H5470 H5414 committed H3130 to Joseph’s H3027 hand H3605 all H615 the prisoners H1004 that were in the prison; H5470 H3605 and whatever H834 H6213 they did H8033 there, H6213 he was the doer of it.

23 H8269 The keeper H1004 of the prison H5470 H7200 looked H3972 not to any H3972 thing H3027 that was under his hand; H834 because H3068 the LORD H834 was with him, and that which H6213 he did, H3068 the LORD H6743 made it to prosper.
