2 Kings 17:27-41 Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom you brought from there; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.

28 H259 Then one H3548 of the priests H834 whom H1540 they had carried H1540 away H8111 from Samaria H935 came H3427 and dwelled H1008 in Bethel, H3384 and taught H349 them how H3372 they should fear H3068 the LORD.

29 H1471 However, every nation H6213 made H430 gods H3240 of their own, and put H1004 them in the houses H1116 of the high H834 places which H8118 the Samaritans H6213 had made, H1471 every nation H5892 in their cities H834 wherein H8033 H3427 they dwelled.

30 H582 And the men H894 of Babylon H6213 made H5524 Succothbenoth, H582 and the men H3575 of Cuth H6213 made H5370 Nergal, H582 and the men H2574 of Hamath H6213 made H807 Ashima,

31 H5757 And the Avites H6213 made H5026 Nibhaz H8662 and Tartak, H5616 and the Sepharvites H8313 burnt H1121 their children H784 in fire H152 to Adrammelech H6048 and Anammelech, H430 the gods H5617 of Sepharvaim.

32 H3373 So they feared H3068 the LORD, H6213 and made H7098 to themselves of the lowest H3548 of them priests H1116 of the high H1961 places, which H6213 sacrificed H1004 for them in the houses H1116 of the high places.

33 H3373 They feared H3068 the LORD, H5647 and served H430 their own gods, H4941 after the manner H1471 of the nations H834 whom H1540 they carried H1540 away H8033 from there.

34 H2088 To this H3117 day H6213 they do H7223 after the former H4941 manners: H3373 they fear H3068 not the LORD, H369 neither H6213 do H2708 they after their statutes, H4941 or after their ordinances, H8451 or after the law H4687 and commandment H834 which H3068 the LORD H6680 commanded H1121 the children H3290 of Jacob, H834 whom H8034 he named H3478 Israel;

35 H3068 With whom the LORD H3772 had made H1285 a covenant, H6680 and charged H559 them, saying, H3372 You shall not fear H312 other H430 gods, H3808 nor H7812 bow H3808 yourselves to them, nor H5647 serve H3808 them, nor H2076 sacrifice to them:

36 H3068 But the LORD, H834 who H5927 brought H776 you up out of the land H4714 of Egypt H1419 with great H3581 power H5186 and a stretched H2220 out arm, H3372 him shall you fear, H7812 and him shall you worship, H2076 and to him shall you do sacrifice.

37 H2706 And the statutes, H4941 and the ordinances, H8451 and the law, H4687 and the commandment, H834 which H3789 he wrote H8104 for you, you shall observe H6213 to do H3605 for ever more; H3117 H3372 and you shall not fear H312 other H430 gods.

38 H1285 And the covenant H3772 that I have made H7911 with you you shall not forget; H3808 neither H3372 shall you fear H312 other H430 gods.

39 H3068 But the LORD H430 your God H3372 you shall fear; H5337 and he shall deliver H3027 you out of the hand H3605 of all H341 your enemies.

40 H8085 However, they did not listen, H6213 but they did H7223 after their former H4941 manner.

41 H428 So these H1471 nations H3373 feared H3068 the LORD, H5647 and served H6456 their graven H1571 images, both H1121 their children, H1121 and their children’s H1121 children: H6213 as did H1 their fathers, H6213 so do H2088 they to this H3117 day.
