H398 ותאכל and devour H853 את   H1167 בעלי the men H7927 שׁכם of Shechem, H853 ואת   H1004 בית and the house H4407 מלוא of Millo; H3318 ותצא come out H784 אשׁ and let fire H1167 מבעלי from the men H7927 שׁכם of Shechem, H1004 ומבית and from the house H4407 מלוא of Millo, H398 ותאכל and devour H853 את   H40 אבימלך׃  

  21 H5127 וינס ran away, H3147 יותם And Jotham H1272 ויברח and fled, H1980 וילך and went H876 בארה to Beer, H3427 וישׁב and dwelt H8033 שׁם there, H6440 מפני for fear H40 אבימלך of Abimelech H251 אחיו׃ his brother.

  22 H7786 וישׂר had reigned H40 אבימלך When Abimelech H5921 על over H3478 ישׂראל Israel, H7969 שׁלשׁ three H8141 שׁנים׃ years

  23 H7971 וישׁלח sent H430 אלהים Then God H7307 רוח spirit H7451 רעה an evil H996 בין between H40 אבימלך Abimelech H996 ובין   H1167 בעלי and the men H7927 שׁכם of Shechem; H898 ויבגדו dealt treacherously H1167 בעלי and the men H7927 שׁכם of Shechem H40 באבימלך׃ with Abimelech:

  24 H935 לבוא might come, H2555 חמס That the cruelty H7657 שׁבעים to the threescore and ten H1121 בני sons H3378 ירבעל of Jerubbaal H1818 ודמם and their blood H7760 לשׂום be laid H5921 על upon H40 אבימלך Abimelech H251 אחיהם their brother, H834 אשׁר which H2026 הרג slew H853 אותם   H5921 ועל them; and upon H1167 בעלי the men H7927 שׁכם of Shechem, H834 אשׁר which H2388 חזקו   H853 את   H3027 ידיו   H2026 להרג him in the killing H853 את   H251 אחיו׃ of his brethren.

  25 H7760 וישׂימו set H1167 לו בעלי And the men H7927 שׁכם of Shechem H693 מארבים liers in wait H5921 על for him in H7218 ראשׁי the top H2022 ההרים of the mountains, H1497 ויגזלו and they robbed H853 את   H3605 כל all H834 אשׁר that H5674 יעבר came along H5921 עליהם by H1870 בדרך that way H5046 ויגד them: and it was told H40 לאבימלך׃ Abimelech.

  27 H3318 ויצאו And they went out H7704 השׂדה into the fields, H1219 ויבצרו and gathered H853 את   H3754 כרמיהם their vineyards, H1869 וידרכו and trod H6213 ויעשׂו and made H1974 הלולים merry, H935 ויבאו and went into H1004 בית the house H430 אלהיהם of their god, H398 ויאכלו and did eat H8354 וישׁתו and drink, H7043 ויקללו and cursed H853 את   H40 אבימלך׃ Abimelech.

  28 H559 ויאמר said, H1603 געל And Gaal H1121 בן the son H5651 עבד of Ebed H4310 מי Who H40 אבימלך Abimelech, H4310 ומי and who H7927 שׁכם Shechem, H3588 כי that H5647 נעבדנו we should serve H3808 הלא him? not H1121 בן the son H3378 ירבעל of Jerubbaal? H2083 וזבל and Zebul H6496 פקידו his officer? H5647 עבדו serve H853 את   H376 אנשׁי the men H2544 חמור of Hamor H1 אבי the father H7927 שׁכם   H4069 ומדוע for why H5647 נעבדנו serve H587 אנחנו׃ should we

  29 H4310 ומי   H5414 יתן   H853 את   H5971 העם people H2088 הזה this H3027 בידי were under my hand! H5493 ואסירה then would I remove H853 את   H40 אבימלך Abimelech. H559 ויאמר And he said H40 לאבימלך to Abimelech, H7235 רבה Increase H6635 צבאך thine army, H3318 וצאה׃ and come out.

  31 H7971 וישׁלח And he sent H4397 מלאכים messengers H413 אל unto H40 אבימלך Abimelech H8649 בתרמה privily, H559 לאמר saying, H2009 הנה Behold, H1603 געל Gaal H1121 בן the son H5651 עבד of Ebed H251 ואחיו and his brethren H935 באים be come H7927 שׁכמה to Shechem; H2009 והנם and, behold, H6696 צרים they fortify H853 את   H5892 העיר the city H5921 עליך׃ against

  34 H6965 ויקם rose up, H40 אבימלך And Abimelech H3605 וכל and all H5971 העם the people H834 אשׁר that H5973 עמו with H3915 לילה him, by night, H693 ויארבו and they laid wait H5921 על against H7927 שׁכם Shechem H702 ארבעה in four H7218 ראשׁים׃ companies.

  35 H3318 ויצא went out, H1603 געל And Gaal H1121 בן the son H5651 עבד of Ebed H5975 ויעמד and stood H6607 פתח in the entering H8179 שׁער of the gate H5892 העיר of the city: H6965 ויקם rose up, H40 אבימלך and Abimelech H5971 והעם and the people H834 אשׁר that H854 אתו with H4480 מן him, from H3993 המארב׃ lying in wait.

  38 H559 ויאמר Then said H413 אליו unto H2083 זבל Zebul H346 איה him, Where H645 אפוא now H6310 פיך thy mouth, H834 אשׁר wherewith H559 תאמר thou saidst, H4310 מי Who H40 אבימלך Abimelech, H3588 כי that H5647 נעבדנו we should serve H3808 הלא him? not H2088 זה this H5971 העם the people H834 אשׁר that H3988 מאסתה thou hast despised? H3318 בו צא go out, H4994 נא I pray H6258 עתה now, H3898 והלחם׃ and fight

  39 H3318 ויצא went out H1603 געל And Gaal H6440 לפני before H1167 בעלי the men H7927 שׁכם of Shechem, H3898 וילחם and fought H40 באבימלך׃ with Abimelech.

  40 H7291 וירדפהו chased H40 אבימלך And Abimelech H5127 וינס him, and he fled H6440 מפניו before H5307 ויפלו were overthrown H2491 חללים wounded, H7227 רבים him, and many H5704 עד unto H6607 פתח the entering H8179 השׁער׃ of the gate.

  41 H3427 וישׁב dwelt H40 אבימלך And Abimelech H725 בארומה at Arumah: H1644 ויגרשׁ thrust out H2083 זבל and Zebul H853 את   H1603 געל Gaal H853 ואת   H251 אחיו and his brethren, H3427 משׁבת that they should not dwell H7927 בשׁכם׃ in Shechem.

  42 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass H4283 ממחרת on the morrow, H3318 ויצא went out H5971 העם that the people H7704 השׂדה into the field; H5046 ויגדו and they told H40 לאבימלך׃ Abimelech.

  44 H40 ואבימלך And Abimelech, H7218 והראשׁים and the company H834 אשׁר that H5973 עמו with H6584 פשׁטו him, rushed forward, H5975 ויעמדו and stood H6607 פתח in the entering H8179 שׁער of the gate H5892 העיר of the city: H8147 ושׁני and the two H7218 הראשׁים companies H6584 פשׁטו ran H5921 על upon H3605 כל all H834 אשׁר that H7704 בשׂדה in the fields, H5221 ויכום׃ and slew

  45 H40 ואבימלך And Abimelech H3898 נלחם fought H5892 בעיר against the city H3605 כל all H3117 היום day; H1931 ההוא that H3920 וילכד and he took H853 את   H5892 העיר the city, H853 ואת   H5971 העם the people H834 אשׁר that H2026 בה הרג and slew H5422 ויתץ therein, and beat down H853 את   H5892 העיר the city, H2232 ויזרעה and sowed H4417 מלח׃ it with salt.

  47 H5046 ויגד And it was told H40 לאבימלך Abimelech, H3588 כי that H6908 התקבצו were gathered together. H3605 כל all H1167 בעלי the men H4026 מגדל of the tower H7927 שׁכם׃ of Shechem

  48 H5927 ויעל got him up H40 אבימלך And Abimelech H2022 הר to mount H6756 צלמון Zalmon, H1931 הוא he H3605 וכל and all H5971 העם the people H834 אשׁר that H854 אתו with H3947 ויקח took H40 אבימלך him; and Abimelech H853 את   H7134 הקרדמות an axe H3027 בידו in his hand, H3772 ויכרת and cut down H7754 שׂוכת a bough H6086 עצים from the trees, H5375 וישׂאה and took H7760 וישׂם it, and laid H5921 על on H7926 שׁכמו his shoulder, H559 ויאמר and said H413 אל unto H5971 העם the people H834 אשׁר that H5973 עמו with H4100 מה him, What H7200 ראיתם ye have seen H6213 עשׂיתי me do, H4116 מהרו make haste, H6213 עשׂו do H3644 כמוני׃ as I

  49 H3772 ויכרתו cut down H1571 גם likewise H3605 כל And all H5971 העם the people H376 אישׁ every man H7754 שׂוכה his bough, H1980 וילכו and followed H310 אחרי and followed H40 אבימלך Abimelech, H7760 וישׂימו and put H5921 על to H6877 הצריח the hold, H3341 ויציתו and set H5921 עליהם upon H853 את   H6877 הצריח the hold H784 באשׁ on fire H4191 וימתו died H1571 גם also, H3605 כל them; so that all H376 אנשׁי the men H4026 מגדל of the tower H7927 שׁכם of Shechem H505 כאלף about a thousand H376 אישׁ men H802 ואשׁה׃ and women.

  50 H1980 וילך Then went H40 אבימלך Abimelech H413 אל to H8405 תבץ Thebez, H2583 ויחן and encamped H8405 בתבץ against Thebez, H3920 וילכדה׃ and took

  52 H935 ויבא came H40 אבימלך And Abimelech H5704 עד unto H4026 המגדל the tower, H3898 וילחם and fought H5066 בו ויגשׁ against it, and went hard H5704 עד unto H6607 פתח the door H4026 המגדל of the tower H8313 לשׂרפו to burn H784 באשׁ׃ it with fire.

  53 H7993 ותשׁלך cast H802 אשׁה woman H259 אחת And a certain H6400 פלח a piece H7393 רכב of a millstone H5921 על upon H7218 ראשׁ head, H40 אבימלך Abimelech's H7533 ותרץ and all to broke H853 את   H1538 גלגלתו׃ his skull.

  55 H7200 ויראו saw H376 אישׁ And when the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3588 כי that H4191 מת was dead, H40 אבימלך Abimelech H1980 וילכו they departed H376 אישׁ every man H4725 למקמו׃ unto his place.

  56 H7725 וישׁב rendered H430 אלהים Thus God H853 את   H7451 רעת the wickedness H40 אבימלך of Abimelech, H834 אשׁר which H6213 עשׂה he did H1 לאביו unto his father, H2026 להרג in slaying H853 את   H7657 שׁבעים his seventy H251 אחיו׃ brethren:

  1 H6965 ויקם there arose H310 אחרי And after H40 אבימלך Abimelech H3467 להושׁיע to defend H853 את   H3478 ישׂראל Israel H8439 תולע Tola H1121 בן the son H6312 פואה of Puah, H1121 בן the son H1734 דודו of Dodo, H376 אישׁ a man H3485 ישׂשכר of Issachar; H1931 והוא and he H3427 ישׁב dwelt H8069 בשׁמיר in Shamir H2022 בהר in mount H669 אפרים׃ Ephraim.
