DouayRheims(i) 19 Then was Nabuchodonosor filled with fury: and the countenance of his face was changed against Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, and he commanded that the furnace should be heated seven times more than it had been accustomed to be heated. 20 And he commanded the strongest men that were in his army, to bind the feet of Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, and to cast them into the furnace of burning fire. 21 And immediately these men were bound, and were cast into the furnace of burning fire, with their coats, and their caps, and their shoes, and their garments. 22 For the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace was heated exceedingly. And the flame of the fire slew those men that had cast in Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago. 23 But these three men, that is, Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, fell down bound in the midst of the furnace of burning fire.
(3:24) And they walked in the midst of the flame, praising God, and blessing the Lord.
(3:25) Then Azarias standing up, prayed in this manner, and opening his mouth in the midst of the fire, he said:
(3:26) Blessed art thou, O Lord, the God of our fathers, and thy name is worthy of praise, and glorious for ever:
(3:27) For thou art just in all that thou hast done to us, and all thy works are true, and thy ways right, and all thy judgments true.
(3:28) For thou hast executed true judgments in all the things that thou hast brought upon us, and upon Jerusalem, the holy city of our fathers: for according to truth and judgment, thou hast brought all these things upon us for our sins.
(3:29) For we have sinned, and committed iniquity, departing from thee: and we have trespassed in all things:
(3:30) And we have not hearkened to thy commandments, nor have we observed nor done as thou hadst commanded us, that it might go well with us.
(3:31) Wherefore, all that thou hast brought upon us, and every thing that thou hast done to us, thou hast done in true judgment:
(3:32) And thou hast delivered us into the hands of our enemies that are unjust, and most wicked, and prevaricators, and to a king unjust, and most wicked beyond all that are upon the earth.
(3:33) And now we cannot open our mouths: we are become a shame, and a reproach to thy servants, and to them that worship thee.
(3:34) Deliver us not up for ever, we beseech thee, for thy name's sake, and abolish not thy covenant.
(3:35) And take not away thy mercy from us, for the sake of Abraham, thy beloved, and Isaac, thy servant, and Israel, thy holy one:
(3:36) To whom thou hast spoken, promising that thou wouldst multiply their seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that is on the sea shore.
(3:37) For we, O Lord, are diminished more than any nation, and are brought low in all the earth this day for our sins.
(3:38) Neither is there at this time prince, or leader, or prophet, or holocaust, or sacrifice, or oblation, or incense, or place of first fruits before thee,
(3:39) That we may find thy mercy: nevertheless, in a contrite heart and humble spirit let us be accepted.
(3:40) As in holocausts of rams, and bullocks, and as in thousands of fat lambs: so let our sacrifice be made in thy sight this day, that it may please thee: for there is no confusion to them that trust in thee.
(3:41) And now we follow thee with all our heart, and we fear thee, and seek thy face.
(3:42) Put us not to confusion, but deal with us according to thy meekness, and according to the multitude of thy mercies.
(3:43) And deliver us, according to thy wonderful works, and give glory to thy name, O Lord:
(3:44) And let all them be confounded that shew evils to thy servants, let them be confounded in all thy might, and let their strength be broken:
(3:45) And let them know that thou art the Lord, the only God, and glorious over all the world.
(3:46) Now the king's servants that had cast them in, ceased not to heat the furnace with brimstone and tow, and pitch, and dry sticks,
(3:47) And the flame mounted up above the furnace nine and forth cubits:
(3:48) And it broke forth, and burnt such of the Chaldeans as it found near the furnace.
(3:49) But the angel of the Lord went down with Azarias and his companions into the furnace: and he drove the flame of the fire out of the furnace,
(3:50) And made the midst of the furnace like the blowing of a wind bringing dew, and the fire touched them not at all, nor troubled them, nor did them any harm.
(3:51) Then these three, as with one mouth, praised and glorified and blessed God, in the furnace, saying:
(3:52) Blessed art thou, O Lord, the God of our fathers; and worthy to be praised, and glorified, and exalted above all for ever: and blessed is the holy name of thy glory: and worthy to be praised and exalted above all, in all ages.
(3:53) Blessed art thou in the holy temple of thy glory: and exceedingly to be praised and exalted above all for ever.

And he ordered to heat the furnace seven fold, till it was hot as possible: 20 and commanded some strong men to bind Sedrach, Misach and Abdenago, and cast them into the furnace of fire which was heated. 21 Then were these men bound, clad as they were with their Babylonish dress and with turbans and boots; and cast into the midst of the furnace of fire which was heated, 22 as the command of the king was peremptory. But though the furnace was heated to an excessive degree and 23 these three men, Sedrach, Misach and Abdenago fell bound into the midst of the glowing furnace, yet they walked about in the midst of the flame, praising God and blessing the Lord. 24 When Nabuchodonosar heard them singing praise he was amazed and starting up hastily said to his nobles, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? And when they said to the king, True, king, 25 the king said, Here I see four men loose and walking about in the midst of the fire unhurt: And the appearance of the fourth is like a son of a god.

Leeser(i) 19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar filled with fury, and the form of his countenance was changed because of Shadrach, Meshach, and ‘Abed-nego; and he commenced and ordered that they should heat the furnace thoroughly seven times more than it was wont to be heated. 20 And he ordered the mightiest men in strength that were in his army, to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and ‘Abed-nego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. 21 Then were these men bound in their mantles, their under-garments, and their turbans, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 22 Now, because the king’s command was so urgent, and the furnace exceedingly heated, the flame of the fire slew those men that carried up Shadrach, Meshach, and ‘Abed-nego. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and ‘Abed-nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 24 Then was king Nebuchadnezzar astonished, and he rose up in haste, and commenced, and said unto his counsellors, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, Certainly, O king. 25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and there is no injury on them; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.
YLT(i) 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar hath been full of fury, and the expression of his face hath been changed concerning Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego; he answered and said to heat the furnace seven times above that which it is seen to be heated; 20 and to certain mighty men who are in his force he hath said to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, to cast into the burning fiery furnace. 21 Then these men have been bound in their coats, their tunics, and their turbans, and their clothing, and have been cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 22 Therefore, because that the word of the king is urgent, and the furnace heated exceedingly, those men who have taken up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego—killed them hath the spark of the fire. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, have fallen down in the midst of the burning fiery furnace—bound. 24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king hath been astonished, and hath risen in haste; he hath answered and said to his counsellors, `Have we not cast three men into the midst of the fire—bound?' They have answered and are saying to the king, `Certainly, O king.' 25 He answered and hath said, `Lo, I am seeing four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like to a son of the gods.'

Rotherham(i) 19 Then, Nebuchadnezzar, was filled with wrath, and, the likeness of his countenance, was changed, against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego,––he spake and gave word to heat the furnace seven times hotter than it was ever seen heated; 20 and, to men, who were the mightiest men in his army, gave he word to bind fast Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego,––to cast them into the burning furnace of fire. 21 Then bound they, these men, in their trousers, their tunics, and their cloaks, and their (other) clothing,––and cast into the midst of the burning furnace of fire. 22 Therefore, because the word of the king had raged forth, and the furnace was exceeding hot, those very men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, were slain by the flame of the fire; 23 and, these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, fell down into the midst of the burning furnace of fire, fast bound. 24 Then, Nebuchadnezzar the king, was amazed, and rose up in haste: he spake and said to his nearest friends––Were there not three men, we cast into the midst of the fire, fast bound? They answered and said to the king, Surely, O king! 25 He answered and said, Lo! I, see four men, unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and, injury, there is not in them, and, the appearance of the fourth, is like to a son of the gods!
CLV(i) 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar is full of fury, and the mien of his visage alters against Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego. He is answering and saying to heat the furnace seven units over what he perceives it to be already heated." 20 And to the masters--masters of valor that are in his army--he says to truss up Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego and heave them into the glowing flaming furnace." 21 Then these masters truss them up in their mantles, their turbans on their heads, their garb and their clothing, and heave them into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace." 22 Wherefore--because the king's matter is urgent, and the furnace heated redundantly, seven units more than aforetime--these masters who were chosen to truss them up and to approach the furnace and hoist Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego:Despatched are they by the flare of the flame." 23 And these other masters, the three of them, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, fall trussed up into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace. Yet they are walking in the midst of the flame, singing hymns to Eloah and blessing Yahweh." 24 Then king Nebuchadnezzar marks it and rises in a fluster. Responding and saying is he to his retinue, "Did we not heave three masters, trussed up, into the midst of the flame? They are answering and saying to the king, "Certainly, O king!" 25 He is answering and saying, "Aha! I am perceiving four masters, untied, walking about in the midst of the flame, and actually, not one among them is harmed! And the appearance of the fourth is like a son of Elohim."
BBE(i) 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of wrath, and the form of his face was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego: and he gave orders that the fire was to be heated up seven times more than it was generally heated. 20 And he gave orders to certain strong men in his army to put cords on Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego and put them into the burning and flaming fire. 21 Then these men had cords put round them as they were, in their coats, their trousers, their hats, and their clothing, and were dropped into the burning and flaming fire. 22 And because the king's order was not to be put on one side, and the heat of the fire was so great, the men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego were burned to death by the flame of the fire. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, with the cords about them, went down into the burning and flaming fire. 24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar, full of fear and wonder, got up quickly, and said to his wise men, Did we not put three men in cords into the fire? and they made answer and said to the king, True, O King. 25 He made answer and said, Look! I see four men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and they are not damaged; and the form of the fourth is like a son of the gods.
MKJV(i) 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with wrath, and the form of his face was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He spoke and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. 20 And he commanded mighty men in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to throw them into the burning fiery furnace. 21 Then these men were tied up in their slippers, their tunics, and their mantles, and their other clothes, and were thrown into the middle of the burning fiery furnace. 22 Then because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was amazed. ECB(i) 19 Then Nebukadnets Tsar fills with fury, and changes the image of his face against Shadrach, Meshach and Abed Nego: he answers and says for them to kindle the furnace seven above the usual kindling. 20 And to the most mighty mighty of valour among his valiant, he says to shackle Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed Nego, and to hurl them into the burning fiery furnace. 21 Then they shackle these mighty in their mantles, their undergarments and their hats and their robes and hurl them midst the burning fiery furnace. 22 So because the utterance of the sovereign is so severe and the furnace exceedingly kindled the flame of the fire severs the mighty who take Shadrach, Meshach and Abed Nego. 23 And these three mighty, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed Nego fall down shackled midst the burning fiery furnace. 24 Then Nebukadnets Tsar the sovereign marvels and rises hastily, and answers, saying to his cousellors, Hurled we not three mighty bound midst the fire? They answer and say to the sovereign, Certainly, O sovereign. 25 He answers and says, Behold, I see four mighty released, walking midst the fire with no damage; and the appearance of the fourth is as the Bar of Elah.

And he gave orders to heat the furnace seven times more than usual, until it should burn to the uttermost. 20 And he commanded mighty men to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. 21 Then those men were bound with their coats, caps, and trousers, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace, 22 forasmuch as the king's word prevailed; and the furnace was made exceedingly hot. 23 Then these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell bound into the midst of the burning furnace, and walked in the midst of the flame, singing praises to God, and blessing the Lord. 24 And Nebuchadnezzar heard them singing praises. And he wondered, and rose up in haste, and said to his nobles, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? And they said to the king, Yes, O king. 25 And the king said, But I see four men loose, and walking in the midst of the fire, and there has no harm happened to them; and the appearance of the fourth is like the Son of God.
LXX2012(i) 19 Then Nabuchodonosor was filled with wrath, and the form of his countenance was changed toward Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago: and he gave orders to heat the furnace seven times [more than usual], until it should burn to the uttermost. 20 And he commanded mighty men to bind Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, and to cast [them] into the burning fiery furnace. 21 Then those men were bound with their coats, and caps, and hose, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace, 22 forasmuch as the king's word prevailed; and the furnace was made exceeding hot. 23 Then these three men, Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, fell bound into the midst of the burning furnace, and walked in the midst of the flame, singing praise to God, and blessing the Lord. 24 And Nabuchodonosor heard them singing praises; and he wondered, and rose up in haste, and said to his nobles, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? and they said to the king, Yes, O king. 25 And the king said, But I see four men loose, and walking in the midst of the fire, and there has no harm happened to them; and the appearance of the fourth is like the Son of God.
NSB(i) 19 Nebuchadnezzar was furious. The expression on his face changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than its required heat. 20 He commanded the mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to throw them into the blazing furnace. 21 Then these men were bound in their coats, caps and their other garments. They were thrown into the midst of the blazing furnace. 22 Because of the urgency of the king's commandment and the exceeding hot furnace, the flame of the fire killed the men who delivered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. 23 These three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the blazing furnace. 24 Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished. He hurried to speak to his counselors: / »Did we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?« They answered: »True O king.« 25 He said: »Look, I see four men walking in the midst of the fire. They are not hurt! The appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods!«
ISV(i) 19 The King Orders an ExecutionOut of control with rage, Nebuchadnezzar’s facial expression changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and he ordered that the furnace be heated seven times hotter than usual. 20 Then he issued orders to his elite guard to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego with ropes and throw them into the blazing fire furnace. 21 So the elite guard tied them up fully clothed, still wearing their robes, tunics, and turbans, and threw them into the blazing fire furnace, 22 because the king’s command was so drastic. Since the furnace was blazing hot, its flames killed those who threw Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into the blazing fire. 23 Bound firmly with ropes, these three men Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego fell into the blazing fire furnace.
24 The Fourth Man in the FurnaceAstonished, King Nebuchadnezzar stood up in terror, and asked his advisers, “Didn’t we throw three men into the fire, bound firmly with ropes?”
In reply they told the king, “Yes, your majesty.”
25 “Look!” he told them, “I see four men walking untied and unharmed in the middle of the fire, and the appearance of the fourth resembles a divine being.”
LEB(i) 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with anger and the image of his face was changed toward* Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, so he ordered and said* to heat up the one furnace seven times what was usual to heat it up. 20 And he commanded the strongest men of the guards* who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and to throw them into the furnace of blazing fire. 21 Then these men were bound with their garments, their trousers and their turbans and their other clothing, and they were thrown into the midst of the furnace of blazing fire. 22 Therefore* because* the word of the king was severe and the furnace was exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed these men who lifted up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. 23 But these men, the three of them, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, fell down into the midst of the furnace of blazing fire, and they were bound. 24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and he rose up in haste and he asked, saying to his advisers, "Did we not throw three men, bound, into the midst of the fire? They answered, saying to the king, "Certainly, O king!" 25 He answered,* saying, "Look, I see four men unbound walking in the midst of the fire and there is no damage to them, and the* appearance of the fourth man resembles the son of a god."
BSB(i) 19 At this, Nebuchadnezzar was filled with rage, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He gave orders to heat the furnace seven times hotter than usual, 20 and he commanded some mighty men of valor in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and throw them into the blazing fiery furnace. 21 So they were tied up, wearing robes, trousers, turbans, and other clothes, and they were thrown into the blazing fiery furnace. 22 The king’s command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the fiery flames killed the men who carried up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, firmly bound, fell into the blazing fiery furnace. 24 Suddenly King Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in amazement and asked his advisers, “Did we not throw three men, firmly bound, into the fire?” “Certainly, O king,” they replied. 25 “Look!” he exclaimed. “I see four men, unbound and unharmed, walking around in the fire—and the fourth looks like a son of the gods!”

MLV(i) 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego. Therefore he spoke and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was accustomed to be heated. 20 And he commanded certain mighty men who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their tunics and their head coverings and their other garments and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
22 Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent and the furnace very hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished and rose up in haste. He spoke and said to his counselors, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said to the king, True, O king. 25 He answered and said, Behold, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire and they have no harm. And the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.
VIN(i) 19 Out of control with rage, Nebuchadnezzar's facial expression changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and he ordered that the furnace be heated seven times hotter than usual. 20 He commanded the mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to throw them into the blazing furnace. 21 So these men were bound in their coats, hosen, shoes with their other garments, and cast into the hot burning oven. 22 Then, because the king's command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. 23 Bound firmly with ropes, these three men Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego fell into the blazing fire furnace. 24 Astonished, King Nebuchadnezzar stood up in terror, and asked his advisers, "Didn't we throw three men into the fire, bound firmly with ropes?" In reply they said to the king, "Yes, your majesty." 25 He said: "Look, I see four men walking in the midst of the fire. They are not hurt! The appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods!"
