Genesis 3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made . And he said unto the woman , Yea , hath God said , Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

And he said [H8799] H802 unto the woman H637 , Yea H430 , hath God H559 said [H8804] H398 , Ye shall not eat [H8799] H6086 of every tree H1588 of the garden?

2 H802 And the woman H559 said [H8799] H5175 unto the serpent H398 , We may eat [H8799] H6529 of the fruit H6086 of the trees H1588 of the garden:

3 H6529 But of the fruit H6086 of the tree H8432 which is in the midst H1588 of the garden H430 , God H559 hath said [H8804] H398 , Ye shall not eat [H8799] H5060 of it, neither shall ye touch [H8799] H6435 it, lest H4191 ye die [H8799] .

4 H5175 And the serpent H559 said [H8799] H802 unto the woman H4191 , Ye shall not surely [H8800] H4191 die [H8799] :

5 H430 For God H3045 doth know [H8802] H3117 that in the day H398 ye eat [H8800] H5869 thereof, then your eyes H6491 shall be opened [H8738] H430 , and ye shall be as gods H3045 , knowing [H8802] H2896 good H7451 and evil.

6 H802 And when the woman H7200 saw [H8799] H6086 that the tree H2896 was good H3978 for food H1931 , and that it H8378 was pleasant H5869 to the eyes H6086 , and a tree H2530 to be desired [H8737] H7919 to make one wise [H8687] H3947 , she took [H8799] H6529 of the fruit thereof H398 , and did eat [H8799] H5414 , and gave [H8799] H1571 also H376 unto her husband H398 with her; and he did eat [H8799] .

7 H5869 And the eyes H8147 of them both H6491 were opened [H8735] H1992 , and they H3045 knew [H8799] H5903 that they were naked H8609 ; and they sewed H8384 fig H5929 leaves H8609 together [H8799] H6213 , and made themselves [H8799] H2290 aprons.

8 H8085 And they heard [H8799] H6963 the voice H3068 of the LORD H430 God H1980 walking [H8693] H1588 in the garden H7307 in the cool H3117 of the day H120 : and Adam H802 and his wife H2244 hid themselves [H8691] H6440 from the presence H3068 of the LORD H430 God H8432 amongst H6086 the trees H1588 of the garden.

9 H3068 And the LORD H430 God H7121 called [H8799] H120 unto Adam H559 , and said [H8799] H335 unto him, Where art thou?

10 H559 And he said [H8799] H8085 , I heard [H8804] H6963 thy voice H1588 in the garden H3372 , and I was afraid [H8799] H595 , because I H5903 was naked H2244 ; and I hid myself [H8735] .

11 H559 And he said [H8799] H4310 , Who H5046 told [H8689] H5903 thee that thou wast naked H398 ? Hast thou eaten [H8804] H6086 of the tree H6680 , whereof I commanded thee [H8765] H1115 that thou shouldest not H398 eat [H8800] ?

12 H120 And the man H559 said [H8799] H802 , The woman H5414 whom thou gavest [H8804] H5978 to be with me H1931 , she H5414 gave [H8804] H6086 me of the tree H398 , and I did eat [H8799] .

13 H3068 And the LORD H430 God H559 said [H8799] H802 unto the woman H6213 , What is this that thou hast done [H8804] H802 ? And the woman H559 said [H8799] H5175 , The serpent H5377 beguiled me [H8689] H398 , and I did eat [H8799] .

14 H3068 And the LORD H430 God H559 said [H8799] H5175 unto the serpent H859 , Because thou H6213 hast done [H8804] H779 this, thou art cursed [H8803] H929 above all cattle H2416 , and above every beast H7704 of the field H1512 ; upon thy belly H3212 shalt thou go [H8799] H6083 , and dust H398 shalt thou eat [H8799] H3117 all the days H2416 of thy life:

15 H7896 And I will put [H8799] H342 enmity H802 between thee and the woman H2233 , and between thy seed H2233 and her seed H7779 ; it shall bruise [H8799] H7218 thy head H7779 , and thou shalt bruise [H8799] H6119 his heel.

16 H802 Unto the woman H559 he said [H8804] H7235 , I will greatly [H8687] H7235 multiply [H8686] H6093 thy sorrow H2032 and thy conception H6089 ; in sorrow H3205 thou shalt bring forth [H8799] H1121 children H8669 ; and thy desire H376 shall be to thy husband H4910 , and he shall rule [H8799] over thee.

17 H121 And unto Adam H559 he said [H8804] H8085 , Because thou hast hearkened [H8804] H6963 unto the voice H802 of thy wife H398 , and hast eaten [H8799] H6086 of the tree H834 , of which H6680 I commanded thee [H8765] H559 , saying [H8800] H398 , Thou shalt not eat [H8799] H779 of it: cursed [H8803] H127 is the ground H6093 for thy sake; in sorrow H398 shalt thou eat [H8799] H3605 of it all H3117 the days H2416 of thy life;

18 H6975 Thorns also H1863 and thistles H6779 shall it bring forth [H8686] H398 to thee; and thou shalt eat [H8804] H6212 the herb H7704 of the field;

19 H2188 In the sweat H639 of thy face H398 shalt thou eat [H8799] H3899 bread H5704 , till H7725 thou return [H8800] H127 unto the ground H3947 ; for out of it wast thou taken [H8795] H6083 : for dust H859 thou H6083 art, and unto dust H7725 shalt thou return [H8799] .

20 H120 And Adam H7121 called [H8799] H802 his wife's H8034 name H2332 Eve H517 ; because she was the mother H2416 of all living.

21 H120 Unto Adam H802 also and to his wife H3068 did the LORD H430 God H6213 make [H8799] H3801 coats H5785 of skins H3847 , and clothed them [H8686] .

22 H3068 And the LORD H430 God H559 said [H8799] H2005 , Behold H120 , the man H259 is become as one H3045 of us, to know [H8800] H2896 good H7451 and evil H7971 : and now, lest he put forth [H8799] H3027 his hand H3947 , and take [H8804] H6086 also of the tree H2416 of life H398 , and eat [H8804] H2425 , and live [H8804] H5769 for ever:

23 H3068 Therefore the LORD H430 God H7971 sent him forth [H8762] H1588 from the garden H5731 of Eden H5647 , to till [H8800] H127 the ground H3947 from whence he was taken [H8795] .

24 H1644 So he drove out [H8762] H120 the man H7931 ; and he placed [H8686] H6924 at the east H1588 of the garden H5731 of Eden H3742 Cherubims H3858 , and a flaming H2719 sword H2015 which turned every way [H8693] H8104 , to keep [H8800] H1870 the way H6086 of the tree H2416 of life.
