G1161 But G3756 not G4183 long G3326 after G906 there arose [G5627]   G2596 against G846 it G5189 a tempestuous G417 wind G2564 , called [G5746]   G2148 Euroclydon.
G1161 And G4143 when the ship G4884 was caught [G5685]   G2532 , and G1410 could [G5740]   G3361 not G503 bear up into [G5721]   G417 the wind G1929 , we let her drive [G5631]   G5342   [G5712]  .
G1161 And G5295 running under [G5631]   G5100 a certain G3519 island G2564 which is called [G5746]   G2802 Clauda G2480 , we had G3433 much G2480 work [G5656]   G4031 to come by G1096   [G5635]   G4627 the boat:
G3739 Which G142 when they had taken up [G5660]   G5530 , they used [G5711]   G996 helps G5269 , undergirding [G5723]   G4143 the ship G5037 ; and G5399 , fearing [G5740]   G3361 lest G1601 they should fall [G5632]   G1519 into G4950 the quicksands G5465 , strake [G5660]   G4632 sail G3779 , and so G5342 were driven [G5712]  .
G1161 And G2257 we G4971 being exceedingly G5492 tossed with a tempest [G5746]   G1836 , the next G1546 day they lightened the ship G4160   [G5710]  ;
G2532 And G5154 the third G4496 day we cast out [G5656]   G849 with our own hands G4631 the tackling G4143 of the ship.
G1161 And G3383 when neither G2246 sun G3383 nor G798 stars G1909 in G4119 many G2250 days G2014 appeared [G5723]   G5037 , and G3756 no G3641 small G5494 tempest G1945 lay on [G5740]   G3956 us, all G1680 hope G2248 that we G4982 should be saved [G5745]   G4014 was G3063 then G4014 taken away [G5712]  .
G1161 But G5225 after [G5723]   G4183 long G776 abstinence G5119   G3972 Paul G2476 stood forth [G5685]   G1722 in G3319 the midst G846 of them G2036 , and said [G5627]   G5599 , Sirs G435   G1163 , ye should [G5713]   G3303   G3980 have hearkened [G5660]   G3427 unto me G3361 , and not G321 have loosed [G5745]   G575 from G2914 Crete G5037 , and G2770 to have gained [G5658]   G5026 this G5196 harm G2532 and G2209 loss.
G2532 And G3569 now G3867 I exhort [G5719]   G5209 you G2114 to be of good cheer [G5721]   G1063 : for G2071 there shall be [G5704]   G3762 no G580 loss G5590 of any man's life G1537 among G5216 you G4133 , but G4143 of the ship.
G1063 For G3936 there stood by [G5627]   G3427 me G5026 this G3571 night G32 the angel G2316 of God G3739 , whose G1510 I am [G5748]   G2532 , and G3739 whom G3000 I serve [G5719]  ,
G3004 Saying [G5723]   G5399 , Fear [G5737]   G3361 not G3972 , Paul G4571 ; thou G1163 must [G5748]   G3936 be brought before [G5629]   G2541 Caesar G2532 : and G2400 , lo [G5628]   G2316 , God G5483 hath given [G5766]   G4671 thee G3956 all G4126 them that sail [G5723]   G3326 with G4675 thee.
G1352 Wherefore G435 , sirs G2114 , be of good cheer [G5720]   G1063 : for G4100 I believe [G5719]   G2316 God G3754 , that G3779 it G2071 shall be [G5704]   G2596 even G3739   G5158 as G2980 it was told [G5769]   G3427 me.
G1161 Howbeit G2248 we G1163 must [G5748]   G1601 be cast [G5629]   G1519 upon G5100 a certain G3520 island.
G1161 But G5613 when G5065 the fourteenth G3571 night G1096 was come [G5633]   G2257 , as we G1308 were driven up and down [G5746]   G1722 in G99 Adria G2596 , about G3319 midnight G3571   G3492 the shipmen G5282 deemed [G5707]   G846 that they G4317 drew near [G5721]   G5100 to some G5561 country;
G2532 And G1001 sounded [G5660]   G2147 , and found [G5627]   G1501 it twenty G3712 fathoms G1161 : and G1339 when they had gone [G5660]   G1024 a little further G1001 , they sounded [G5660]   G3825 again G2532 , and G2147 found [G5627]   G1178 it fifteen G3712 fathoms.
G5037 Then G5399 fearing [G5740]   G3381 lest G4458   G1601 we should have fallen [G5632]   [G5625]   G1601   [G5632]   G1519 upon G5117 rocks G5138   G4496 , they cast [G5660]   G5064 four G45 anchors G1537 out of G4403 the stern G2172 , and wished [G5711]   G1096   [G5635]   G2250 for the day.
G1161 And G3492 as the shipmen G2212 were about [G5723]   G5343 to flee [G5629]   G1537 out of G4143 the ship G2532 , when G5465 they had let down [G5660]   G4627 the boat G1519 into G2281 the sea G4392 , under colour G5613 as though G3195 they would [G5723]   G1614 have cast [G5721]   G45 anchors G1537 out of G4408 the foreship,
G3972 Paul G2036 said [G5627]   G1543 to the centurion G2532 and G4757 to the soldiers G3362 , Except G3778 these G3306 abide [G5661]   G1722 in G4143 the ship G5210 , ye G3756 cannot G1410   [G5736]   G4982 be saved [G5683]  .
G5119 Then G4757 the soldiers G609 cut off [G5656]   G4979 the ropes G4627 of the boat G2532 , and G1439 let [G5656]   G846 her G1601 fall off [G5629]  .
G1161 And G891 while G3739   G2250 the day G1096 was coming [G5738]   G3195 on [G5707]   G3972 , Paul G3870 besought [G5707]   G537 them all G3335 to take [G5629]   G5160 meat G3004 , saying [G5723]   G4594 , This day G5065 is the fourteenth G2250 day G4328 that ye have tarried [G5723]   G1300 and continued [G5719]   G777 fasting G4355 , having taken [G5642]   G3367 nothing.
G1352 Wherefore G3870 I pray [G5719]   G5209 you G4355 to take [G5629]   G5160 some meat G1063 : for G5124 this G5225 is [G5719]   G4314 for G5212 your G4991 health G1063 : for G4098 there shall G3762 not G2359 an hair G4098 fall [G5695]   G1537 from G2776 the head G3762 of any G5216 of you.
G1161 And G5023 when he had thus G2036 spoken [G5631]   G2532 , G2983 he took [G5631]   G740 bread G2168 , and gave thanks [G5656]   G2316 to God G1799 in presence G3956 of them all G2532 : and G2806 when he had broken [G5660]   G756 it, he began [G5662]   G2068 to eat [G5721]  .
G1161 Then G1096 were G846 they G1096   [G5637]   G3956 all G2115 of good cheer G4355 , and they G2532 also G4355 took [G5639]   G5160 some meat.
G1161 And G2258 we were [G5713]   G3956 in all G1722 in G4143 the ship G1250 two hundred G1440 threescore G1803 and sixteen G5590 souls.
G1161 And G5160 when they had eaten G2880 enough [G5685]   G2893 , they lightened [G5707]   G4143 the ship G1544 , and cast out [G5734]   G4621 the wheat G1519 into G2281 the sea.
KJV(i) 14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. 15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive. 16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat: 17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven. 18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship; 19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship. 20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away. 21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. 22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship. 23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, 24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. 25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. 26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island. 27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country; 28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms. 29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day. 30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship, 31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved. 32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off. 33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing. 34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you. 35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat. 36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat. 37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls. 38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.
