Ezra Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia , that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled , the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia , that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom , and put it also in writing , saying ,

2 H559 Thus saith [H8804] H3566 Cyrus H4428 king H6539 of Persia H3068 , The LORD H430 God H8064 of heaven H5414 hath given [H8804] H4467 me all the kingdoms H776 of the earth H6485 ; and he hath charged [H8804] H1129 me to build [H8800] H1004 him an house H3389 at Jerusalem H3063 , which is in Judah.

3 H5971 Who is there among you of all his people H430 ? His God H5927 be with him, and let him go up [H8799] H3389 to Jerusalem H3063 , which is in Judah H1129 , and build [H8799] H1004 the house H3068 of the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel H1931 , (he H430 is the God H3389 ,) which is in Jerusalem.

4 H7604 And whosoever remaineth [H8737] H4725 in any place H1481 where he sojourneth [H8802] H582 , let the men H4725 of his place H5375 help [H8762] H3701 him with silver H2091 , and with gold H7399 , and with goods H929 , and with beasts H5071 , beside the freewill offering H1004 for the house H430 of God H3389 that is in Jerusalem.

5 H6965 Then rose up [H8799] H7218 the chief H1 of the fathers H3063 of Judah H1144 and Benjamin H3548 , and the priests H3881 , and the Levites H7307 , with all them whose spirit H430 God H5782 had raised [H8689] H5927 , to go up [H8800] H1129 to build [H8800] H1004 the house H3068 of the LORD H3389 which is in Jerusalem.

6 H5439 And all they that were about H2388 them strengthened [H8765] H3027 their hands H3627 with vessels H3701 of silver H2091 , with gold H7399 , with goods H929 , and with beasts H4030 , and with precious things H5068 , beside all that was willingly offered [H8692] .

7 H3566 Also Cyrus H4428 the king H3318 brought forth [H8689] H3627 the vessels H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD H5019 , which Nebuchadnezzar H3318 had brought forth [H8689] H3389 out of Jerusalem H5414 , and had put [H8799] H1004 them in the house H430 of his gods;

8 H3566 Even those did Cyrus H4428 king H6539 of Persia H3318 bring forth [H8686] H3027 by the hand H4990 of Mithredath H1489 the treasurer H5608 , and numbered [H8799] H8339 them unto Sheshbazzar H5387 , the prince H3063 of Judah.

9 H4557 And this is the number H7970 of them: thirty H105 chargers H2091 of gold H505 , a thousand H105 chargers H3701 of silver H8672 , nine H6242 and twenty H4252 knives,

10 H7970 Thirty H3713 basons H2091 of gold H3701 , silver H3713 basons H4932 of a second H702 sort four H3967 hundred H6235 and ten H312 , and other H3627 vessels H505 a thousand.

11 H3627 All the vessels H2091 of gold H3701 and of silver H2568 were five H505 thousand H702 and four H3967 hundred H8339 . All these did Sheshbazzar H5927 bring up [H8689] H1473 with them of the captivity H5927 that were brought up [H8736] H894 from Babylon H3389 unto Jerusalem.

ERV⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹ Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and [put it] also in writing, saying, ² Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD, the God of heaven, given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. ³ Whosoever there is among you of all his people, his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD, the God of Israel, (he is God,) which is in Jerusalem. ⁴ And whosoever is left, in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God which is in Jerusalem. ⁵ Then rose up the heads of fathers’ [houses] of Judah and Benjamin, told the priests, and the Levites, even all whose spirit God had stirred to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem. ⁶ And all they that were round about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered. ⁷ Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods; ⁸ even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah. ⁹ And this is the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives; ¹⁰ thirty bowls of gold, silver bowls of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand. ¹¹ All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up, when they of the captivity were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.
