Jeremiah 38:6-13 ויקחו Then took את ירמיהו they Jeremiah, וישׁלכו and cast אתו אל him into הבור the dungeon מלכיהו of Malchiah בן the son המלך of Hammelech, אשׁר that בחצר in the court המטרה of the prison: וישׁלחו and they let down את ירמיהו Jeremiah בחבלים with cords. ובבור And in the dungeon אין no מים water, כי but אם but טיט mire: ויטבע sunk ירמיהו so Jeremiah בטיט׃ in the mire.

H953 ובבור And in the dungeon H369 אין no H4325 מים water, H3588 כי but H518 אם but H2916 טיט mire: H2883 ויטבע sunk H3414 ירמיהו so Jeremiah H2916 בטיט׃ in the mire.

7 H8085 וישׁמע heard H5663 עבד מלך Now when Ebed-melech H3569 הכושׁי the Ethiopian, H376 אישׁ one H5631 סריס of the eunuchs H1931 והוא which H1004 בבית house, H4428 המלך was in the king's H3588 כי that H5414 נתנו they had put H853 את H3414 ירמיהו Jeremiah H413 אל in H953 הבור the dungeon; H4428 והמלך the king H3427 יושׁב then sitting H8179 בשׁער in the gate H1144 בנימן׃ of Benjamin;

8 H3318 ויצא went forth H5663 עבד מלך Ebed-melech H1004 מבית house, H4428 המלך out of the king's H1696 וידבר and spoke H413 אל to H4428 המלך the king, H559 לאמר׃ saying,

9 H113 אדני My lord H4428 המלך the king, H7489 הרעו have done evil H376 האנשׁים men H428 האלה these H853 את H3605 כל in all H834 אשׁר that H6213 עשׂו they have done H3414 לירמיהו to Jeremiah H5030 הנביא the prophet, H853 את H834 אשׁר whom H7993 השׁליכו they have cast H413 אל into H953 הבור the dungeon; H4191 וימת and he is like to die H8478 תחתיו in the place where H6440 מפני for H7458 הרעב hunger H3588 כי he is: for H369 אין no H3899 הלחם bread H5750 עוד more H5892 בעיר׃ in the city.

10 H6680 ויצוה commanded H4428 המלך Then the king H853 את H5663 עבד מלך Ebed-melech H3569 הכושׁי the Ethiopian, H559 לאמר saying, H3947 קח Take H3027 בידך with H2088 מזה from hence H7970 שׁלשׁים thirty H376 אנשׁים men H5927 והעלית thee, and take up H853 את H3414 ירמיהו Jeremiah H5030 הנביא the prophet H4480 מן from hence H953 הבור the dungeon, H2962 בטרם before H4191 ימות׃ he die.

11 H3947 ויקח took H5663 עבד מלך So Ebed-melech H853 את H376 האנשׁים the men H3027 בידו with H935 ויבא him, and went into H1004 בית the house H4428 המלך of the king H413 אל under H8478 תחת under H214 האוצר the treasury, H3947 ויקח and took H8033 משׁם thence H1094 בלוי old H5499 הסחבות cast clouts H1094 ובלוי and old H4418 מלחים rotten rags, H7971 וישׁלחם and let them down H413 אל into H3414 ירמיהו Jeremiah. H413 אל to H953 הבור the dungeon H2256 בחבלים׃ by cords

12 H559 ויאמר said H5663 עבד מלך And Ebed-melech H3569 הכושׁי the Ethiopian H413 אל unto H3414 ירמיהו Jeremiah, H7760 שׂים Put H4994 נא now H1094 בלואי old H5499 הסחבות cast clouts H4418 והמלחים and rotten rags H8478 תחת under H679 אצלות thine armholes H3027 ידיך thine armholes H8478 מתחת under H2256 לחבלים the cords. H6213 ויעשׂ did H3414 ירמיהו And Jeremiah H3651 כן׃ so.

13 H4900 וימשׁכו So they drew up H853 את H3414 ירמיהו Jeremiah H2256 בחבלים with cords, H5927 ויעלו H853 אתו H4480 מן out of H953 הבור the dungeon: H3427 וישׁב remained H3414 ירמיהו and Jeremiah H2691 בחצר in the court H4307 המטרה׃ of the prison.
