Mark 6:16-26

  17 G1063 For G2264 Herod G846 himself G649 [G5660] had sent forth G2902 [G5656] and laid hold G2491 upon John, G2532 and G1210 [G5656] bound G846 him G1722 in G5438 prison G1223 for the sake G2266 of Herodias, G846 his G80 brother G5376 Philip's G1135 wife: G3754 for G1060 [G5656] he had married G846 her.

  18 G1063 For G2491 John G3004 [G5707] had said G2264 to Herod, G3754   G1832 0 It is G3756 not G1832 [G5748] allowed G4671 for thee G2192 [G5721] to have G4675 thy G80 brother's G1135 wife.

  19 G1161 Therefore G2266 Herodias G1758 [G5707] had a quarrel G846 against him, G2532 and G2309 [G5707] would G615 [G5658] have killed G846 him; G2532 but G1410 [G5711] she could G3756 not:

  20 G1063 For G2264 Herod G5399 [G5711] feared G2491 John, G1492 [G5761] knowing G846 that he G1342 was a righteous G2532 and G40 holy G435 man, G2532 and G4933 [G5707] preserved G846 him; G2532 and G191 [G5660] having heard G846 him, G4160 [G5707] he did G4183 many things, G2532 and G191 [G5707] heard G846 him G2234 with pleasure.

  21 G2532 And G2121 when a convenient G2250 day G1096 [G5637] had come, G3753 that G2264 Herod G846 on his G1077 birthday G4160 [G5707] made G1173 a supper G846 to his G3175 lords, G2532   G5506 high captains, G2532 and G3588 the G4413 foremost G1056 men of Galilee;

  22 G2532 And G2364 when the daughter G2266 of Herodias G846 herself G1525 [G5631] came in, G2532 and G3738 [G5666] danced, G2532 and G700 [G5660] pleased G2264 Herod G2532 and G4873 [G5740] them that sat with him, G935 the king G2036 [G5627] said G2877 to the girl, G154 [G5657] Ask G3165 of me G3739 G1437 whatever G2309 [G5725] thou wilt, G2532 and G1325 [G5692] I will give G4671 it thee.

  23 G2532 And G3660 [G5656] he swore G846 to her, G3754 G3739 G1437 Whatever G154 [G5661] thou shalt ask G3165 of me, G1325 [G5692] I will give G4671 it thee, G2193 to G2255 the half G3450 of my G932 kingdom.

  24 G1161 And G1831 [G5631] she went forth, G2036 [G5627] and said G3588   G846 to her G3384 mother, G5101 What G154 [G5698] shall I ask? G1161 And G3588 she G2036 [G5627] said, G3588 The G2776 head G2491 of John G3588 the G910 Baptist.

  25 G2532 And G1525 [G5631] she came in G2112 immediately G3326 with G4710 haste G4314 to G3588 the G935 king, G154 [G5668] and asked, G3004 [G5723] saying, G2309 [G5719] I will G2443 that G1325 [G5632] thou shouldest give G3427 me G1824 immediately G1909 on G4094 a platter G3588 the G2776 head G2491 of John G3588 the G910 Baptist.

  26 G2532 And G935 the king G1096 [G5637] was G4036 exceeding sorry; G1223 yet for G3727 his oath's sake, G2532 and G3588 for their sakes who G4873 [G5740] sat with him, G2309 [G5656] he would G3756 not G114 [G5658] reject G846 her.
