Esther 6:1-13 In that night the king could not sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read at the face of the king.

1 H3915 In that night H4428 the king H5074 [H8804] could not H8142 sleep, H559 [H8799] and he commanded H935 [H8687] to bring H5612 the book H2146 of records H1697 H3117 of the chronicles; H7121 [H8737] and they were read H6440 at the face of H4428 the king.

2 H4672 [H8735] And it was found H3789 [H8803] written, H4782 that Mordecai H5046 [H8689] had informed H904 on Bigthana H8657 and Teresh, H8147 two H4428 of the king's H5631 chamberlains, H8104 [H8802] the keepers H5592 of the door, H1245 [H8765] who sought H7971 [H8800] to lay H3027 hand H4428 on the king H325 Ahasuerus.

3 H4428 And the king H559 [H8799] said, H3366 What honour H1420 and dignity H6213 [H8738] hath been bestowed H4782 upon Mordecai H559 [H8799] for this? Then said H4428 the king's H5288 servants H8334 [H8764] that ministered H1697 to him, There is nothing H6213 [H8738] done for him.

4 H4428 And the king H559 [H8799] said, H2691 Who is in the court? H2001 Now Haman H935 [H8804] had come H2435 into the outer H2691 court H4428 of the king's H1004 house, H559 [H8800] to speak H4428 to the king H8518 [H8800] to hang H4782 Mordecai H6086 on the gallows H3559 [H8689] that he had prepared for him.

5 H4428 And the king's H5288 servants H559 [H8799] said H2001 to him, Behold, Haman H5975 [H8802] standeth H2691 in the court. H4428 And the king H559 [H8799] said, H935 [H8799] Let him come in.

6 H2001 So Haman H935 [H8799] came in. H4428 And the king H559 [H8799] said H6213 [H8800] to him, What shall be done H376 to the man H4428 whom the king H2654 [H8804] delighteth H3366 to honour? H2001 Now Haman H559 [H8799] thought H3820 in his heart, H4428 To whom would the king H2654 [H8799] delight H6213 [H8800] to do H3366 honour H3148 more than to myself?

7 H2001 And Haman H559 [H8799] answered H4428 the king, H376 For the man H4428 whom the king H2654 [H8804] delighteth H3366 to honour,

8 H4438 Let the royal H3830 apparel H935 [H8686] be brought H4428 which the king H3847 [H8804] useth to wear, H5483 and the horse H4428 that the king H7392 [H8804] rideth H3804 upon, and the crown H4438 royal H5414 [H8738] which is set H7218 upon his head:

9 H3830 And let this apparel H5483 and horse H5414 [H8800] be given H3027 to the hand H376 of one H4428 of the king's H6579 most noble H8269 princes, H3847 [H8689] that they may array H376 the man H4428 whom the king H2654 [H8804] delighteth H3366 to honour, H7392 [H8689] and bring H5483 him on horseback H7339 through the street H5892 of the city, H7121 [H8804] and call H6440 at the face of H6213 [H8735] him, Thus shall it be done H376 to the man H4428 whom the king H2654 [H8804] delighteth H3366 to honour.

10 H4428 Then the king H559 [H8799] said H2001 to Haman, H4116 [H8761] Make haste, H3947 [H8798] and take H3830 the apparel H5483 and the horse, H1696 [H8765] as thou hast said, H6213 [H8798] and do H4782 even so to Mordecai H3064 the Judean, H3427 [H8802] that sitteth H4428 at the king's H8179 gate: H1697 let nothing H5307 [H8686] fail H1696 [H8765] of all that thou hast spoken.

11 H2001 Then Haman H3947 [H8799] took H3830 the apparel H5483 and the horse, H3847 [H8686] and arrayed H4782 Mordecai, H7392 [H8686] and brought him on horseback H7339 through the street H5892 of the city, H7121 [H8799] and called H6440 at the face of H6213 [H8735] him, Thus shall it be done H376 to the man H4428 whom the king H2654 [H8804] delighteth H3366 to honour.

12 H4782 And Mordecai H7725 [H8799] came again H4428 to the king's H8179 gate. H2001 But Haman H1765 [H8738] hasted H1004 to his house H57 mourning, H7218 and having his head H2645 [H8802] covered.

13 H2001 And Haman H5608 [H8762] told H2238 Zeresh H802 his wife H157 [H8802] and all his friends H7136 [H8804] every thing that had befallen H559 [H8799] him. Then said H2450 his wise men H2238 and Zeresh H802 his wife H4782 to him, If Mordecai H2233 is of the seed H3064 of the Judeans, H6440 at the face of H2490 [H8689] whom thou hast begun H5307 [H8800] to fall, H3201 [H8799] thou shalt not prevail H5307 [H8800] against him, but shalt surely H5307 [H8799] fall H6440 at the face of him.
