2 H6925 I thought H8232 [H8754] it good H2324 [H8682] to show H852 the signs H8540 and wonders H5943 that the high H426 God H5648 [H8754] hath wrought H5974 toward me.

3 H4101 How H7260 great H852 are his signs! H4101 and how H8624 mighty H8540 are his wonders! H4437 his kingdom H5957 is an everlasting H4437 kingdom, H7985 and his dominion H5974 is from H1859 generation H1859 to generation.

4 H576 I H5020 Nebuchadnezzar H1934 [H8754] was H7954 [H8752] at rest H1005 in my house, H7487 and flourishing H1965 in my palace:

5 H2370 [H8754] I saw H2493 a dream H1763 [H8741] which made me afraid, H2031 and the thoughts H5922 upon H4903 my bed H2376 and the visions H7217 of my head H927 [H8792] troubled me.

6 H4481 Therefore I H7761 [H8752] made H2942 a decree H5954 [H8682] to bring H3606 in all H2445 the wise H895 men of Babylon H6925 before H3046 [H8681] me, that they might make known H6591 to me the interpretation H2493 of the dream.

7 H116 Then H5954 [H8750] came H2749 in the magicians, H826 the astrologers, H3779 the Chaldeans, H1505 [H8750] and the soothsayers: H576 and I H560 [H8750] told H2493 the dream H6925 before H3809 them; but they did not H3046 [H8683] make known H6591 to me the interpretation of it.

8 H5705 But at H318 the last H1841 Daniel H5922 came in H6925 before me, H8036 whose name H1096 is Belteshazzar, H8036 according to the name H426 of my god, H7308 and in whom is the spirit H6922 of the holy H426 gods: H6925 and before H560 [H8754] him I told H2493 the dream, saying,

9 H1096 O Belteshazzar, H7229 master H2749 of the magicians, H576 because I H3046 [H8754] know H7308 that the spirit H6922 of the holy H426 gods H3606 H3809 is in thee, and no H7328 secret H598 [H8750] troubleth H560 [H8747] thee, tell H2376 me the visions H2493 of my dream H2370 [H8754] that I have seen, H6591 and the interpretation of it.

10 H2376 Thus were the visions H7217 of my head H5922 in H4903 my bed; H1934 H2370 [H8754] I saw, H431 and behold H363 a tree H1459 in the midst H772 of the earth, H7314 and its height H7690 was great.

11 H363 The tree H7236 [H8754] grew, H8631 [H8754] and was strong, H7314 and its height H4291 [H8748] reached H8065 to heaven, H2379 and the sight H5491 of it to the end H3606 of all H772 the earth:

12 H6074 Its leaves H8209 were fair, H4 and its budding H7690 abundant, H4203 and in it was food H3606 for all: H2423 the beasts H1251 of the field H2927 [H8681] had shade H8460 under H6853 it, and the fowls H8065 of heaven H1753 [H8748] dwelt H6056 among its boughs, H3606 and all H1321 flesh H2110 [H8729] was fed H4481 from it.

13 H1934 H2370 [H8754] I saw H2376 in the visions H7217 of my head H5922 upon H4903 my bed, H431 and, behold, H5894 a watcher H6922 and an holy one H5182 [H8750] came down H4481 from H8065 heaven;

14 H7123 [H8751] He called H2429 aloud, H560 [H8750] and said H3652 thus, H1414 Hew down H363 the tree, H7113 [H8745] and cut off H6056 its branches, H5426 [H8680] shake off H6074 its leaves, H921 [H8745] and scatter H4 its budding: H2423 let the beasts H5111 [H8748] escape H4481 from H8479 under it, H6853 and the fowls H4481 from H6056 its branches:

15 H1297 Nevertheless H7662 [H8747] leave H6136 the stump H8330 of its roots H772 in the earth, H613 even with a band H6523 of iron H5174 and brass, H1883 in the tender grass H1251 of the field; H6647 [H8721] and let it be wet H2920 with the dew H8065 of heaven, H2508 and let its portion H5974 be with H2423 the beasts H6211 in the grass H772 of the earth:

16 H3825 Let his heart H8133 [H8741] be changed H4481 from H606 man's, H2423 and let a beast's H3825 heart H3052 [H8725] be given H7655 to him; and let seven H5732 times H2499 pass H5922 over him.

17 H6600 This matter H1510 is by the decree H5894 of the watchers, H7595 and the demand H3983 by the word H6922 of the holy ones: H5705 to H1701 the intent H2417 that the living H3046 [H8748] may know H5943 that the most High H7990 ruleth H4437 in the kingdom H606 of men, H5415 [H8748] and giveth H4479 it to whomever H6634 [H8748] he will, H6966 [H8681] and setteth up H5922 over H8215 it the basest H606 of men.

18 H1836 This H2493 dream H576 I H4430 king H5020 Nebuchadnezzar H2370 [H8754] have seen. H607 Now thou, H1096 O Belteshazzar, H560 [H8747] declare H6591 the interpretation H6903 of it, forasmuch as H3606 all H2445 the wise H4437 men of my kingdom H3809 are not H3202 [H8750] able H3046 [H8682] to make known H6591 to me the interpretation: H607 but thou H3546 [H8751] art able; H7308 for the spirit H6922 of the holy H426 gods is in thee.

19 H116 Then H1841 Daniel, H8036 whose name H1096 was Belteshazzar, H8075 [H8733] was appalled H2298 for one H8160 hour, H7476 and his thoughts H927 [H8792] troubled H4430 him. The king H6032 [H8750] spoke, H560 [H8750] and said, H1096 Belteshazzar, H409 let not H2493 the dream, H6591 or the interpretation H927 [H8792] of it, trouble H1096 thee. Belteshazzar H6032 [H8750] answered H560 [H8750] and said, H4756 My lord, H2493 the dream H8131 [H8750] be to them that hate H6591 thee, and the interpretation H6146 of it to thy enemies.

20 H363 The tree H2370 [H8754] that thou sawest, H7236 [H8754] which grew, H8631 [H8754] and was strong, H7314 whose height H4291 [H8748] reached H8065 to the heaven, H2379 and the sight H3606 of it to all H772 the earth;

21 H6074 Whose leaves H8209 were fair, H4 and the budding H7690 of it abundant, H4203 and in it was food H3606 for all; H8460 under H2423 which the beasts H1251 of the field H1753 [H8748] dwelt, H6056 and upon whose branches H6853 the fowls H8065 of heaven H7932 [H8748] had their habitation:

22 H607 It is thou, H4430 O king, H7236 [H8754] that art grown H8631 [H8748] and become strong: H7238 for thy greatness H7236 [H8754] is grown, H4291 [H8754] and reacheth H8065 to heaven, H7985 and thy dominion H5491 to the end H772 of the earth.

23 H4430 And in that the king H2370 [H8754] saw H5894 a watcher H6922 and an holy one H5182 [H8750] coming down H4481 from H8065 heaven, H560 [H8750] and saying, H1414 0 Hew H363 the tree H1414 down, H2255 [H8740] and ruin H1297 it; yet H7662 [H8747] leave H6136 the stump H8330 of its roots H772 in the earth, H613 even with a band H6523 of iron H5174 and brass, H1883 in the tender grass H1251 of the field; H6647 [H8721] and let it be wet H2920 with the dew H8065 of heaven, H2508 and let its portion H5974 be with H2423 the beasts H1251 of the field, H5705 till H7655 seven H5732 times H2499 shall pass H5922 over him;

24 H1836 This H6591 is the interpretation, H4430 O king, H1932 and this H1510 is the decree H5943 of the most High, H4291 [H8754] which is come H5922 upon H4756 my lord H4430 the king:

25 H2957 [H8751] That they shall drive H4481 thee from H606 men, H4070 and thy dwelling H1934 [H8748] shall be H5974 with H2423 the beasts H1251 of the field, H2939 [H8748] and they shall make thee to eat H6211 grass H8450 as oxen, H6647 [H8743] and they shall wet H2920 thee with the dew H8065 of heaven, H7655 and seven H5732 times H2499 shall pass H5922 over H5705 thee, till H3046 [H8748] thou shalt know H5943 that the most High H7990 ruleth H4437 in the kingdom H606 of men, H5415 [H8748] and giveth H4479 it to whomever H6634 [H8748] he will.

26 H560 [H8754] And though they commanded H7662 [H8749] to leave H6136 the stump H363 of the tree H8330 roots; H4437 thy kingdom H7011 shall be sure H4481 to thee, after H3046 [H8748] that thou shalt have known H8065 that the heavens H7990 do rule.

27 H3861 Therefore, H4430 O king, H4431 let my counsel H8232 [H8748] be acceptable H5922 to thee, H6562 [H8747] and break off H2408 thy sins H6665 by righteousness, H5758 and thy iniquities H2604 [H8749] by showing mercy H6033 [H8750] to the poor; H2006 if H1934 [H8748] it may be H754 a lengthening H7963 of thy tranquillity.

28 H3606 All H4291 [H8754] this came H5922 upon H4430 the king H5020 Nebuchadnezzar.

29 H7118 At the end H8648 H6236 of twelve H3393 months H1934 H1981 [H8754] he walked H5922 in H1965 the palace H4437 of the kingdom H895 of Babylon.

30 H4430 The king H6032 [H8750] spoke, H560 [H8750] and said, H3809 Is not H1932 H1668 this H7229 great H895 Babylon, H576 that I H1124 [H8754] have built H1005 for the house H4437 of the kingdom H8632 by the might H2632 of my power, H3367 and for the honour H1923 of my majesty?

31 H5751 While H4406 the word H4430 was in the king's H6433 mouth, H5308 [H8754] there fell H7032 a voice H4481 from H8065 heaven, H4430 saying, O king H5020 Nebuchadnezzar, H560 [H8750] to thee it is spoken; H4437 The kingdom H5709 [H8754] hath departed H4481 from thee.

32 H2957 [H8751] And they shall drive H4481 thee from H606 men, H4070 and thy dwelling H5974 shall be with H2423 the beasts H1251 of the field: H2939 [H8748] they shall make thee to eat H6211 grass H8450 as oxen, H7655 and seven H5732 times H2499 shall pass H5922 over H5705 thee, until H3046 [H8748] thou shalt know H5943 that the most High H7990 ruleth H4437 in the kingdom H606 of men, H5415 [H8748] and giveth H4479 it to whomever H6634 [H8748] he will.

33 H8160 The same hour H4406 was the thing H5487 [H8754] fulfilled H5922 upon H5020 Nebuchadnezzar: H2957 [H8752] and he was driven H4481 from H606 men, H399 [H8748] and ate H6211 grass H8450 as oxen, H1655 and his body H6647 [H8721] was wet H2920 with the dew H8065 of heaven, H5705 till H8177 his hairs H7236 [H8754] were grown H5403 like eagles' H2953 feathers, and his nails H6853 like birds' claws.

34 H7118 And at the end H3118 of the days H576 I H5020 Nebuchadnezzar H5191 [H8754] lifted up H5870 my eyes H8065 to heaven, H4486 and my understanding H8421 [H8748] returned H5922 to me, H1289 [H8745] and I blessed H5943 the most High, H7624 [H8745] and I praised H1922 [H8745] and honoured H2417 him that liveth H5957 for ever, H7985 whose dominion H5957 is an everlasting H7985 dominion, H4437 and his kingdom H5974 is from H1859 generation H1859 to generation:

35 H3606 And all H1753 [H8748] the inhabitants H772 of the earth H2804 [H8752] are reputed H3809 as nothing: H5648 [H8751] and he doeth H6634 [H8749] according to his will H2429 in the army H8065 of heaven, H1753 [H8748] and among the inhabitants H772 of the earth: H3809 and none H383 can H4223 [H8741] stay H3028 his hand, H560 [H8748] or say H4101 to him, What H5648 [H8754] doest thou?

36 H2166 At the same time H4486 my reason H8421 [H8748] returned H5922 to me; H3367 and for the honour H4437 of my kingdom, H1923 my honour H2122 and brightness H8421 [H8748] returned H5922 to me; H1907 and my counsellors H7261 and my lords H1156 [H8748] sought H5922 to me; H8627 [H8717] and I was established H4437 in my kingdom, H3493 and excellent H7238 majesty H3255 [H8717] was added to me.

37 H3705 Now H576 I H5020 Nebuchadnezzar H7624 [H8743] adore H7313 [H8751] and extol H1922 [H8743] and honour H4430 the King H8065 of heaven, H3606 all H4567 whose works H7187 are truth, H735 and his ways H1780 judgment: H1981 [H8683] and those that walk H1467 in pride H3202 [H8750] he is able H8214 [H8682] to abase.
