Deuteronomy 29:22-28 So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land , shall say , when they see the plagues of that land , and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it;

24 H1471 Even all nations H559 shall say [H8804] H3068 , Wherefore hath the LORD H6213 done [H8804] H776 thus unto this land H2750 ? what meaneth the heat H1419 of this great H639 anger?

25 H559 Then men shall say [H8804] H5800 , Because they have forsaken [H8804] H1285 the covenant H3068 of the LORD H430 God H1 of their fathers H3772 , which he made [H8804] H3318 with them when he brought them forth [H8687] H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt:

26 H3212 For they went [H8799] H5647 and served [H8799] H312 other H430 gods H7812 , and worshipped [H8691] H430 them, gods H3045 whom they knew [H8804] H2505 not, and whom he had not given [H8804] unto them:

27 H639 And the anger H3068 of the LORD H2734 was kindled [H8799] H776 against this land H935 , to bring [H8687] H7045 upon it all the curses H3789 that are written [H8803] H5612 in this book:

28 H3068 And the LORD H5428 rooted [H8799] H127 them out of their land H639 in anger H2534 , and in wrath H1419 , and in great H7110 indignation H7993 , and cast [H8686] H312 them into another H776 land H3117 , as it is this day.

ERV⁽ⁱ⁾ ²² And the generation to come, your children that shall rise up after you, and the foreigner that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses wherewith the LORD hath made it sick; ²³ [and that] the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, [and] a burning, [that] it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath: ²⁴ even all the nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger? ²⁵ Then men shall say, Because they forsook the covenant of the LORD, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt; ²⁶ and went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them: ²⁷ therefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curse that is written in this book: ²⁸ and the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as at this day.
