1 Samuel 12:12-19 ותראו And when ye saw כי that נחשׁ Nahash מלך the king בני of the children עמון of Ammon בא came עליכם against ותאמרו you, ye said לי לא unto me, Nay; כי but מלך a king ימלך shall reign עלינו over ויהוה us: when the LORD אלהיכם your God מלככם׃ your king.

12 H7200 ותראו And when ye saw H3588 כי that H5176 נחשׁ Nahash H4428 מלך the king H1121 בני of the children H5983 עמון of Ammon H935 בא came H5921 עליכם against H559 ותאמרו you, ye said H3808 לי לא unto me, Nay; H3588 כי but H4428 מלך a king H4427 ימלך shall reign H5921 עלינו over H3068 ויהוה us: when the LORD H430 אלהיכם your God H4428 מלככם׃ your king.

13 H6258 ועתה Now H2009 הנה therefore behold H4428 המלך the king H834 אשׁר whom H977 בחרתם ye have chosen, H834 אשׁר whom H7592 שׁאלתם ye have desired! H2009 והנה and, behold, H5414 נתן hath set H3068 יהוה the LORD H5921 עליכם over H4428 מלך׃ a king

14 H518 אם If H3372 תיראו ye will fear H853 את H3068 יהוה the LORD, H5647 ועבדתם and serve H853 אתו H8085 ושׁמעתם him, and obey H6963 בקלו his voice, H3808 ולא and not H4784 תמרו rebel against H854 את H6310 פי the commandment H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H1961 והיתם you continue H1571 גם then shall both H859 אתם ye H1571 וגם and also H4428 המלך the king H834 אשׁר that H4427 מלך reigneth H5921 עליכם over H310 אחר following H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיכם׃ your God:

15 H518 ואם But if H3808 לא ye will not H8085 תשׁמעו obey H6963 בקול the voice H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H4784 ומריתם but rebel against H854 את H6310 פי the commandment H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H1961 והיתה be H3027 יד then shall the hand H3068 יהוה of the LORD H1 בכם ובאבתיכם׃ against you, as against your fathers.

16 H1571 גם therefore H6258 עתה Now H3320 התיצבו stand H7200 וראו and see H853 את H1697 הדבר thing, H1419 הגדול great H2088 הזה this H834 אשׁר which H3068 יהוה the LORD H6213 עשׂה will do H5869 לעיניכם׃ before your eyes.

17 H3808 הלוא not H7105 קציר harvest H2406 חטים wheat H3117 היום today? H7121 אקרא I will call H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה the LORD, H5414 ויתן and he shall send H6963 קלות thunder H4306 ומטר and rain; H3045 ודעו that ye may perceive H7200 וראו and see H3588 כי that H7451 רעתכם your wickedness H7227 רבה great, H834 אשׁר which H6213 עשׂיתם ye have done H5869 בעיני in the sight H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H7592 לשׁאול in asking H4428 לכם מלך׃ you a king.

18 H7121 ויקרא called H8050 שׁמואל So Samuel H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה the LORD; H5414 ויתן sent H3068 יהוה and the LORD H6963 קלת thunder H4306 ומטר and rain H3117 ביום day: H1931 ההוא that H3372 ויירא feared H3605 כל and all H5971 העם the people H3966 מאד greatly H853 את H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 ואת H8050 שׁמואל׃ and Samuel.

19 H559 ויאמרו said H3605 כל And all H5971 העם the people H413 אל unto H8050 שׁמואל Samuel, H6419 התפלל Pray H1157 בעד for H5650 עבדיך thy servants H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיך thy God, H408 ואל not: H4191 נמות that we die H3588 כי for H3254 יספנו we have added H5921 על unto H3605 כל all H2403 חטאתינו our sins H7451 רעה evil, H7592 לשׁאל to ask H4428 לנו מלך׃ us a king.
