The word of Yah Veh being to Yah El the son of Pethu El: 2 Hear this, you elders; and hearken, all you settlers of the land: becomes this in your days? Or in the days of your fathers? 3
Scribe thereof to your sons; and your sons to their sons; and their sons to another generation. 4 What the palmerworm leaves, the locust eats; and what the locust leaves, the cankerworm eats; and what the cankerworm leaves, the caterpiller eats. 5 Waken, you intoxicants, and weep; and howl, all you drinkers of wine: because the squeezed juice is cut off from your mouth. 6 For a goyim ascends on my land - mighty and without number: whose teeth, the teeth of a lion; and the molars of a roaring lion. 7 He sets my vine desolate and chips away my fig tree: in stripping, he strips and casts away; the tendrils whiten. 8 Lament as a virgin girt with saq for the master of her youth: 9 the offering and the libation is cut off from the house of Yah Veh; the priests, the ministers of Yah Veh, mourn: 10 the field is ravaged; the soil mourns; for the crop is ravaged: the juice withers; the oil languishes. 11 Shame, O you cultivators! Howl, O you vinedressers! for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is destroyed. 12 The vine withers and the fig tree languishes; - pomegranate tree, also palm tree and apple tree - all trees of the field wither: because rejoicing withers from the sons of humanity. 13
Gird and mourn, you priests! Howl, you ministers of the sacrifice altar! Come, stay overnight in saq, you ministers of my Elohim: for the offering and the libation is withheld from the house of your Elohim. 14
Hallow a fast! Call a private assembly! Gather the elders and all the settlers of the land into the house of Yah Veh your El, and cry to Yah Veh, 15 Aha for the day! for the day of Yah Veh is nearby, and comes as a ravage from Shadday. 16 Is not the food cut off in front of our eyes? Cheerfulness and twirling from the house of our Elohim? 17 The kernels rot under their clods; the treasuries desolate; the granaries break; for the crop withers. 18 How the animals sigh! The droves of cattle perplex, because they have no pasture; yes, the droves of flocks have guilted. 19 O Yah Veh, to you I call out: for the fire consumes the folds of the wilderness; and the flame inflames all the trees of the field; 20 also the animals of the field yearn to you: for the reservoirs of waters wither, and the fire consumes the folds of the wilderness.
