Joel 2

ECB(i) 1 Blast the shophar in Siyon! And shout in my holy mountain! All the settlers of the land quiver: for the day of Yah Veh approaches - nearby: 2 a day of dripping darkness and of darkness; a day of clouds and of thick darkness as the dawn spread on the mountains: a great people and a mighty; neither became the like eternally nor adds to become afterward to the years of generation and generation. 3 A fire consumes at their face; and behind them a flame inflames: the land is as the garden of Eden at their face, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yes, and there are no escapees. 4 Their visage is as the visage of horses; and as cavalry, thus they run: 5 as the voice of chariots on the mountain tops, they dance; - as the voice of a flame of fire consumes the stubble - as a mighty people set in war array. 6 In front of their face the people writhe: all faces gather flushness: 7 they run as the mighty; they ascend the wall as men of war; and every man marches on his ways: and they neither entangle their paths 8 nor man thrust brother: they walk all their mighty in the highway: and when they fall on the sword, they are not cut off. 9 They run to and fro in the city; they run on the wall; they ascend on the houses; they enter at the windows as a thief: 10 the earth quakes at their face; the heavens quake; the sun and the moon darken; and the stars gather their brilliance: 11 and Yah Veh gives his voice at the face of his valiant; for his camp is mighty great: for he who works his word is mighty: for the day of Yah Veh is great and mighty awesome; and who can contain it? 12 And also now - an oracle of Yah Veh you, turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting and with weeping and with chopping: 13 and rip your heart and not your clothes; and turn to Yah Veh your Elohim: for he is charismatic and merciful slow to wrath and of great mercy; and he sighs concerning the evil. 14 Who knows? He returns; yes, he sighs: and leaves a blessing behind him - an offering and a libation to Yah Veh your Elohim. 15 Blast the shophar in Siyon! Hallow a fast! Call a private assembly! 16 Gather the people! Hallow the congregation! Gather the elders! Gather the sucklings! And they who suck the breasts! Have the bridegroom come from his chamber! And the bride from her canopy! 17 Have the priests, the ministers of Yah Veh, weep between the porch and the sacrifice altar; and have them say, Spare your people, O Yah Veh! And give not your inheritance to reproach so that the goyim reign over them! Why have them say among the people, Where is their Elohim? 18 And Yah Veh is jealous for his land and compassions his people: 19 yes, Yah Veh answers to his people, Behold, I send you crop and juice and oil and satisfy you therewith: and I add not to give you as a reproach among the goyim: 20 and I remove the northern far from you; and drive him into a land parched and desolate; with his face toward the east sea and his end toward the latter sea; and his stink ascends; and his stench ascends, because he greatens to work. 21 Awe not, O soil; twirl and cheer: for Yah Veh works greatly. 22 Awe not, you animals of the field: for the folds of the wilderness spring up, for the tree bears her fruit; the fig tree and the vine give their valuables. 23 And twirl, you sons of Siyon; and cheer in Yah Veh your Elohim: for he gives you the early pour in justness, and he brings down the downpour for you - the early rain and the after rain in the first. 24 And the threshingfloors fill with grain and the troughs overflow with juice and oil. 25 And I shalam to you the years the locust eats - the cankerworm and the caterpiller and the palmerworm - the great valiant I sent among you. 26 And you eat - eat and satiate; and halal the name of Yah Veh your Elohim who works marvelously with you: and my people shame not eternally. 27 And you know I am midst Yisra El, and I - Yah Veh your Elohim - and no one else: and my people shame not eternally. 28
And so be it, afterward, I pour my spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters prophesy; your elders dream dreams; your youths see visions: 29 and also on the servants and on the maids in those days I pour my spirit. 30
And I give omens in the heavens and in the earth - blood and fire and columns of smoke: 31 the sun turns into darkness and the moon into blood at the face of the coming the great and awesome day of Yah Veh. 32 And so be it, whoever calls on the name of Yah Veh is rescued: for in mount Siyon and in Yeru Shalem is an escape, as Yah Veh says, and in the survivors whom Yah Veh calls.
