  22 H428 And the other H3318 issued out H5892 of the city H7125 against H8432 them; so they were in the middle H3478 of Israel, H5221 some on this side, and some on that side: and they struck H5704 them, so that H7604 they let H8300 none of them remain H6412 or escape.

  23 H4428 And the king H5857 of Ai H8610 they took H2416 alive, H7126 and brought H3091 him to Joshua.

  24 H3478 And it came to pass, when Israel H3615 had made an end H2026 of slaying H3427 all the inhabitants H5857 of Ai H7704 in the field, H4057 in the wilderness H7291 where they chased H5307 them, and when they were all fallen H6310 on the edge H2719 of the sword, H8552 until they were consumed, H3478 that all the Israelites H7725 returned H5857 unto Ai, H5221 and struck H6310 it with the edge H2719 of the sword.

  25 H5307 And so it was, that all that fell H3117 that day, H376 both of men H802 and women, H8147 were twelve H505 thousand, H582 even all the men H5857 of Ai.

  26 H3091 For Joshua H7725 drew H3027 not his hand H7725 back, H5186 with which he stretched out H3591 the spear, H2763 until he had utterly destroyed H3427 all the inhabitants H5857 of Ai.

  27 H929 Only the cattle H7998 and the plunder H5892 of that city H3478 Israel H962 took for a prey H1697 unto themselves, according unto the word H3068 of the Lord H6680 which he commanded H3091 Joshua.

  28 H3091 And Joshua H8313 burnt H5857 Ai, H7760 and made H8510 it an heap H5769 for ever, H8077 even a desolation H3117 unto this day.
