Exodus 5 And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus says the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.

1 H310 And afterward H4872 Moses H175 and Aaron H935 went in, H559 and told H6547 Pharaoh, H559 Thus says H3068 the Lord H430 God H3478 of Israel, H5971 Let my people H7971 go, H2287 that they may hold a feast H4057 unto me in the wilderness.

2 H6547 And Pharaoh H559 said, H3068 Who is the Lord, H8085 that I should obey H6963 his voice H3478 to let Israel H7971 go? H3045 I know H3068 not the Lord, H3478 neither will I let Israel H7971 go.

3 H559 And they said, H430 The God H5680 of the Hebrews H7122 has met H3212 with us: let us go, H7969 we pray you three H3117 days' H1870 journey H4057 into the desert, H2076 and sacrifice H3068 unto the Lord H430 our God; H6293 lest he fall H1698 upon us with pestilence, H2719 or with the sword.

4 H4428 And the king H4714 of Egypt H559 said H4872 unto them, why do you Moses H175 and Aaron, H6544 let H5971 the people H4639 from their works? H3212 Get H5450 you unto your burdens.

5 H6547 And Pharaoh H559 said, H5971 Behold, the people H776 of the land H7227 now are many, H7673 and you make them rest H5450 from their burdens.

6 H6547 And Pharaoh H6680 commanded H3117 the same day H5065 the taskmasters H5971 of the people, H7860 and their officers, H559 saying,

7 H3254 you shall no more H5414 give H5971 the people H8401 straw H3835 to make H3843 brick, H8032 as before: H3212 let them go H7197 and gather H8401 straw for themselves.

8 H4971 And the number H3843 of the bricks, H6213 which they did make H8032 before, H7760 you shall lay H1639 upon them; you shall not diminish H7503 anything there for they be idle; H6817 therefore they cry, H559 saying, H3212 Let us go H2076 and sacrifice H430 to our God.

9 H5656 Let there more work H3513 be laid H582 upon the men, H6213 that they may labor H8159 in it and let them not regard H8267 lying H1697 words.

10 H5065 And the taskmasters H5971 of the people H3318 went out, H7860 and their officers, H559 and they spoke H5971 to the people, H559 saying, H559 Thus says H6547 Pharaoh, H5414 I will not give H8401 you straw.

11 H3212 Go H3947 you get H8401 you straw H834 where H4672 you can find H3588 it: yet H1697 not anything H5656 of your work H1639 shall be diminished.

12 H5971 So the people H6327 were scattered abroad H776 throughout all the land H4714 of Egypt H7197 to gather H7179 stubble H8401 instead of straw.

13 H5065 And the taskmasters H213 hurried H559 them, saying, H3615 fulfill H4639 your works, H3117 your daily H1697 tasks, H1961 as when there was H8401 straw.

14 H7860 And the officers H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel, H6547 which Pharaoh's H5065 taskmasters H7760 had set H5221 over them, were beaten, H559 and demanded, H3615 why have you not fulfilled H2706 your task H3835 in making brick H8543 both yesterday H3117 and to day, H8032 as before?

15 H7860 Then the officers H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel H935 came H6817 and cried H6547 unto Pharaoh, H559 saying, H6213 why deal H5650 you thus with your servants?

16 H8401 There is no straw H5414 given H5650 unto your servants, H559 and they say H6213 to us, Make H3843 brick: H5650 and, behold, your servants H5221 are beaten; H2398 but the fault H5971 is in your own people.

17 H559 But he said, H7503 you are idle, H7503 you are idle: H559 therefore you say, H3212 Let us go H2076 and do sacrifice H3068 to the Lord.

18 H3212 Go H5647 therefore now, and work; H8401 for there shall no straw H5414 be given H5414 you, yet shall you deliver H8506 the number H3843 of bricks.

19 H7860 And the officers H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel H7200 did see H7451 that they were in evil H559 case, after it was said, H1639 you shall not diminish H3843 anything from your bricks H3117 of your daily H1697 task.

20 H6293 And they met H4872 Moses H175 and Aaron, H5324 who stood H7125 in the way, H3318 as they came forth H6547 from Pharaoh:

21 H559 And they said H3068 unto them, The Lord H7200 look H8199 upon you, and judge; H7381 because you have made our smell H887 to be abhorred H5869 in the eyes H6547 of Pharaoh, H5869 and in the eyes H5650 of his servants, H5414 to put H2719 a sword H3027 in their hand H2026 to kill us.

22 H4872 And Moses H7725 returned H3068 unto the Lord, H559 and said, H136 Lord, H7489 why have you so evilly afflicted H5971 this people? H7971 Why is it that you have sent me?

23 H935 For since I came H6547 to Pharaoh H1696 to speak H8034 in your name, H7489 he has done evil H5971 to this people; H5337 neither have you delivered H5971 your people H5337 at all.
