KJV_Strongs(i)
  4 H3124 And Jonah H2490 began [H8686]   H935 to enter [H8800]   H5892 into the city H259 a H3117 day's H4109 journey H7121 , and he cried [H8799]   H559 , and said [H8799]   H705 , Yet forty H3117 days H5210 , and Nineveh H2015 shall be overthrown [H8737]  .
  5 H582 So the people H5210 of Nineveh H539 believed [H8686]   H430 God H7121 , and proclaimed [H8799]   H6685 a fast H3847 , and put [H8799]   H8242 on sackcloth H1419 , from the greatest H6996 of them even to the least of them.
  6 H1697 For word H5060 came [H8799]   H4428 unto the king H5210 of Nineveh H6965 , and he arose [H8799]   H3678 from his throne H5674 , and he laid [H8686]   H155 his robe H3680 from him, and covered [H8762]   H8242 him with sackcloth H3427 , and sat [H8799]   H665 in ashes.
  7 H2199 And he caused it to be proclaimed [H8686]   H559 and published [H8799]   H5210 through Nineveh H2940 by the decree H4428 of the king H1419 and his nobles H559 , saying [H8800]   H120 , Let neither man H929 nor beast H1241 , herd H6629 nor flock H2938 , taste [H8799]   H3972 any thing H7462 : let them not feed [H8799]   H8354 , nor drink [H8799]   H4325 water:
8 H120 But let man H929 and beast H3680 be covered [H8691]   H8242 with sackcloth H7121 , and cry [H8799]   H2394 mightily H430 unto God H7725 : yea, let them turn [H8799]   H376 every one H7451 from his evil H1870 way H2555 , and from the violence H3709 that is in their hands.
  9 H3045 Who can tell [H8802]   H430 if God H7725 will turn [H8799]   H5162 and repent [H8738]   H7725 , and turn away [H8804]   H2740 from his fierce H639 anger H6 , that we perish [H8799]   not?
10 H430 And God H7200 saw [H8799]   H4639 their works H7725 , that they turned [H8804]   H7451 from their evil H1870 way H430 ; and God H5162 repented [H8735]   H7451 of the evil H1696 , that he had said [H8765]   H6213 that he would do [H8800]   H6213 unto them; and he did [H8804]   it not.
ERV(i) 4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. 5 And the people of Nineveh believed God; and they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. 6 And the tidings reached the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. 7 And he made proclamation and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: 8 but let them be covered with sackcloth, both man and beast, and let them cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. 9 Who knoweth whether God will not turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? 10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, which he said he would do unto them; and he did it not.
