2 Samuel 18:14-17 ויאמר Then said יואב Joab, לא I may not כן thus אחילה tarry לפניך with ויקח thee. And he took שׁלשׁה three שׁבטים darts בכפו in his hand, ויתקעם and thrust בלב them through the heart אבשׁלום of Absalom, עודנו while חי he yet alive בלב in the midst האלה׃ of the oak.

16 H8628 ויתקע blew H3097 יואב And Joab H7782 בשׁפר the trumpet, H7725 וישׁב returned H5971 העם and the people H7291 מרדף from pursuing H310 אחרי after H3478 ישׂראל Israel: H3588 כי for H2820 חשׂך held back H3097 יואב Joab H853 את H5971 העם׃ the people.

17 H3947 ויקחו And they took H853 את H53 אבשׁלום Absalom, H7993 וישׁליכו and cast H853 אתו H3293 ביער in the wood, H413 אל him into H6354 הפחת pit H1419 הגדול a great H5324 ויצבו and laid H5921 עליו upon H1530 גל heap H68 אבנים of stones H1419 גדול great H3966 מאד a very H3605 וכל him: and all H3478 ישׂראל Israel H5127 נסו fled H376 אישׁ every one H168 לאהלו׃ to his tent.
