15 H1 How our fathers H3381 went down H4714 into Egypt, H3427 and we have lived H4714 in Egypt H7227 a long H3117 time; H4714 and the Egyptians H7489 afflicted H1 us, and our fathers:

16 H6817 And when we cried H3068 unto the Lord, H8085 he heard H6963 our voice, H7971 and sent H4397 an angel, H3318 and has brought us forth H4714 out of Egypt: H6946 and, behold, we are in Kadesh, H5892 a city H7097 in the outermost H1366 of your border:

17 H5674 Let us pass, H776 I pray you, through your country: H5674 we will not pass H7704 through the fields, H3754 or through the vineyards, H8354 neither will we drink H4325 of the water H875 of the wells: H3212 we will go H4428 by the king's H1870 high way, H5186 we will not turn H3225 to the right hand H8040 nor to the left, H5674 until we have passed H1366 your borders.

18 H123 And Edom H559 said H5674 unto him, You shall not pass H3318 by me, lest I come out H7125 against H2719 you with the sword.

19 H1121 And the sons H3478 of Israel H559 said H5927 unto him, We will go H4546 by the high way: H4735 and if I and my cattle H8354 drink H4325 of your water, H5414 then I will pay H1697 for it: I will only, outside doing any thing H5674 else, go through H7272 on my feet.
