  14 G1492 But beholding G1161   G1473 him, G3588 the G1092 growers G1260 reasoned G4314 to G1438 themselves, G3004 saying, G3778 This G1510.2.3 is G3588 the G2818 heir. G1205 Come, G615 we should kill G1473 him, G2443 that G1473 [3becomes ours G1096   G3588 1the G2817 2inheritance].

Mace(i) 9 Then he propos'd this parable to the people, a man planted a vineyard, let it out to husbandmen, and then went a travelling for some time. 10 at vintage, he sent a servant to the husbandmen, to demand the profits of the vineyard. but they beat him and sent him away empty. 11 again he sent another servant, him they likewise beat, insulted, and sent away empty. 12 he still sent a third, whom they wounded and drove away. 13 upon which the master of the vineyard said, what shall I do? I will send my beloved son: perhaps his presence will engage their respect. 14 but when the husbandmen saw him, they said to one another, this is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be our own. 15 so they kill'd him, and threw him out of the vineyard. what punishment now will the master inflict upon them? 16 he will come and destroy these husbandmen, and give his vineyard to others. but they, taking the hint, cried out, God forbid.
Whiston(i) 9 And he said, A man planted a vineyard, and let it to husbandmen: But he himself went into a far country for a long time. 10 Now at the season, he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but they beat him, and sent [him] away empty. 11 And He sent another servant; and they beat him also, and treated [him] shamefully, and sent [him] away empty. 12 And He sent a third; They wounded him also, and cast [him] out. 13 But the Lord of the vineyard, said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him. 14 But when they saw him, they reasoned one with another, saying, This is the heir: come let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed [him]. What therefore shall the Lord of the vineyard do? 16 He shall come and destroy the husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. But when they heard it, they said, may it not be so.
Wesley(i) 9 Then he spake this parable to the people: A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time. 10 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they might give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat and sent him away empty. 11 And again he sent another servant; and they beat him also, and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. 12 And again he sent a third; and they wounded him also, and cast him out. 13 Then said the Lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps seeing him they will reverence him. 14 But the husbandmen seeing him, reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: Come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. What therefore will the Lord of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and give the vineyard to others.
Worsley(i) 9 Then He began to speak unto the people this parable, A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it out to husbandmen and travelled abroad for a considerable time, 10 and at the fruit-season he sent a servant to the husbandmen that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard; but the husbandmen beat him and sent him away empty. 11 And he sent another servant; and they beat him also and abused him, and sent him away empty. 12 And he sent a third; and they wounded him also and drove him out. 13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: perhaps when they see Him they will reverence Him. 14 But when the husbandmen saw Him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir, come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do unto them? 16 He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. And when they heard this they said, God forbid.
Haweis(i) 9 Then he began to speak to the people this parable: A certain man planted a vineyard, and delivered it to husbandmen, and went abroad for a long while. 10 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that they might give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat, and sent him away empty. 11 And he again sent another servant: and him also they beat, and treating him with indignity, sent him away empty. 12 And he sent yet a third: and him they also wounded, and cast out. 13 Then said the master of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: probably when they see him, they will shew him respect. 14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be our own. 15 So casting him out of the vineyard, they slew him. What then will the master of the vineyard do with these men? 16 He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said God forbid.
Thomson(i) 9 Then he addressed to the people this parable. A certain man planted a vineyard and let it to husbandmen, and went abroad for many seasons. 10 And at one season he sent a servant to the husbandmen that they might give him some of the product of the vineyard. But the husbandmen beat him and sent him away empty. 11 Again he sent another servant; and him also they beat, and abused shamefully, and sent away empty. 12 Again he sent a third, and this one they wounded and cast out. 13 Then the owner of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my son, the Beloved. Perhaps they will reverence him, when they see him. 14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be our own. 15 So having, cast him out of the vineyard they slew him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy those husbandmen and give the vineyard to others. Upon hearing this, they said, God forbid.
Webster(i) 9 Then he began to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time. 10 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty. 11 And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. 12 And again he sent the third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out. 13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be when they see him they will reverence him. 14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, may that never be.

Living_Oracles(i) 9 Then he spoke to the people this parable: A man planted a vineyard, and farmed it out, and having traveled, continued long abroad. 10 The season being come, he sent a servant to the husbandmen, to receive of the produce of the vineyard; but they beat him, and sent him back empty. 11 Afterward, he sent another servant, whom they, having beaten, and used shamefully, also sent away empty. 12 He afterward dispatched a third to them. Him, likewise, they wounded and drove away. 13 Then the proprietor of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; they will surely reverence him, when they see him. 14 But when then husbandmen saw him, they reasoned thus among themselves, This is the heir, come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be our own. 15 And having thrust him out of the vineyard, they killed him. What, therefore, will the proprietor of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy those husbandmen, and give the vineyard to others. And some of his hearers said, God forbid.
Etheridge(i) 9 And he began to speak to the people this parable: A certain man planted a vinery, and let it to husbandmen, and removed for a great time. 10 And at the season he sent his servant to the husbandmen that they should give him of the fruit of the vinery. But the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty. 11 And he added and sent another servant; but they beat him also, and maltreated him, and sent him away empty. 12 And he added and sent a third; but they also wounded him, and cast him out. 13 The lord of the vinery saith, What shall I do? I will send my son, the beloved; now will they see him and reverence him. 14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. 15 And they cast him out of the vinery, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vinery do to them? 16 He will come and destroy those husbandmen, and will give the vinery to others. But when they heard, they said, May this not be!
Murdock(i) 9 And he began to utter this similitude to the people: A certain man planted a vineyard, and leased it to cultivators, and went abroad for a long time. 10 And in time, he sent his servant to the cultivators, that they might give him of the fruits of the vineyard. But the cultivators beat him, and sent him away empty. 11 And again he sent another servant; and him also they beat, and treated with rudeness, and sent empty away. 12 And again he sent the third. And they wounded him, and cast him out. 13 The lord of the vineyard said: What shall I do? I will send my dear son. Perhaps they will look upon him, and be ashamed. 14 But when the cultivators saw him, they reasoned with themselves, and said: This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. 15 And they cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come, and destroy those cultivators, and will lease the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said: This shall not be.

I will send my beloved son; doubtless, when they see him they will respect him. 14 But seeing him, the husbandmen reasoned with themselves, saying, This is the heir; let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. 15 And they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What, therefore, will the lord of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy those husbandmen, and let the vineyard to others. And hearing this, they said, By no means.

I will send the son of me the beloved; perhaps this seeing they will regard. 14 Seeing but him the husbandmen, they reasoned with themselves, saying: This is the heir; come, we may kill him, that to us may be the inheritance. 15 And casting him out of the vineyard, they killed. I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him. 14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; let us kill him, that the inheritance may become ours. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. Rotherham(i) 9 And he began, unto the people, to be speaking this parable:––A man, planted a vineyard, and let it out to husbandmen, and went from home for a long time. 10 And, in due season, he sent unto the husbandmen, a servant, that, of the fruit of the vineyard, they might give him; but, the husbandmen, having beaten him, sent him away empty. 11 And he, further, sent another servant; but, they, beating, that one also, and dishonouring him, sent him away, empty. 12 And he, further, sent, a third; but, they, bruising, this one also, thrust him out. 13 And the lord of the vineyard said––What shall I do? I will send my son, the beloved,––It may be, that, him, they will respect. 14 But he husbandmen, seeing him, began to deliberate one with another, saying––This, is, the heir: Let us slay him, that, ours, may be, the inheritance. 15 And, thrusting him forth outside the vineyard, they slew him. What, then, will the lord of the vineyard do unto them? 16 He will come, and destroy these husbandmen, and give the vineyard unto others. But, when they heard it, they said––Far be it!
Twentieth_Century(i) 9 But Jesus began to tell the people this parable-- "A man once planted a vineyard, and then let it out to tenants, and went abroad for a long while. 10 At the proper time he sent a servant to the tenants, that they should give him a share of the produce of the vineyard. The tenants, however, beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 11 The owner afterwards sent another servant; but the tenants beat and insulted this man too, and sent him away empty-handed. 12 He sent a third; but they wounded this man also, and threw him outside. 13 'What shall I do?' said the owner of the vineyard. 'I will send my son, who is very dear to me. Perhaps they will respect him.' 14 But, on seeing him, the tenants consulted with one another. 'Here is the heir!' they said. 'Let us kill him, and then the inheritance will become ours.' 15 So they threw him outside the vineyard and killed him. Now what will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and put those tenants to death, and will let the vineyard to others." "Heaven forbid!" they exclaimed when they heard it.
Godbey(i) 9 And He began to speak to the people this parable, A man planted a vineyard and gave it out to husbandmen, and went away a long time. 10 And in season he sent a servant to the husbandmen that they might give to him of the fruit of the vineyard, and the husbandmen beating him, sent him away empty. 11 And he proceeded to send to them another servant, and they beating and dishonoring him sent him away empty. 12 And he proceeded to send a third: and wounding him, they cast him out also. 13 And the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my own beloved son: perchance seeing, they will reverence him. 14 And the husbandmen, seeing him, reasoned among themselves saying, This is the heir; let us kill him, in order that the inheritance may be ours. 15 And casting him out from the vineyard they slew him; what then will the lord of the vineyard do? 16 He will come and destroy those husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. And hearing, they said, Let it not be so.
WNT(i) 9 Then He proceeded to speak a parable to the people. "There was a man," He said, "who planted a vineyard, let it out to vine-dressers, and went abroad for a considerable time. 10 At vintage-time he sent a servant to the vine-dressers, for them to give him a share of the crop; but the vine-dressers beat him cruelly and sent him away empty-handed. 11 Then he sent a second servant; and him too they beat and ill treated and sent away empty-handed. 12 Then again he sent a third; and this one also they wounded and drove away. 13 Then the owner of the vineyard said, "'What am I to do? I will send my son--my dearly-loved son: they will probably respect him.' 14 "But when the vine-dressers saw him, they discussed the matter with one another, and said, "'This is the heir: let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.' 15 "So they turned him out of the vineyard and murdered him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and put these vine-dressers to death, and give the vineyard to others." "God forbid!" exclaimed the hearers.
Worrell(i) 9 And He began to speak to the people this parable: "A man planted a vineyard, and let it out to husbandmen, and went abroad for a long time. 10 And, at the season, he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard; but the husbandmen, beating him, sent him away empty. 11 "And he seat still another servant: and him also, having beaten and dishonored, they sent away empty. 12 "And he sent still a third; and they, having wounded this one, cast him out. 13 "And the lord of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my son, the beloved; perhaps they will reverence him.' 14 "But, seeing him, the husbandmen were reasoning one with another, saying, 'This is the heir; let us kill him, that the inheritance may become ours.' 15 And, having thrust him forth out of the vineyard, they slew him. What, therefore, will the lord of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and give the vineyard to others." And, having heard it, they said, "May it not be!"
Moffatt(i) 9 Then he proceeded to tell the people the following parable. "A man planted a vineyard, leased it to vinedressers, and went abroad for some time. 10 When the season came round he sent a servant to the vine dressers to receive part of the produce of the vineyard, but the vinedressers flogged him and sent him off with nothing. 11 He proceeded to send another servant, and they flogged him too, insulted him and sent him off with nothing. 12 Then he sent still a third, but this one they wounded and threw outside. 13 Said the owner of the vineyard, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.' 14 But when the vinedressers saw him, they argued to themselves, 'Here is the heir, let us kill him, so that the inheritance may be ours.' 15 And they threw him outside the vineyard and killed him. Now what will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and kill these vinedressers and give the vineyard to others." When they heard that, they said, "God forbid!"
Goodspeed(i) 9 Then he went on to give the people this illustration: "A man once planted a vineyard, and leased it to tenants, and went away for along absence. 10 And at the proper time he sent a slave to the tenants to have them give him a share of the vintage, but the tenants beat him, and sent him back empty-handed. 11 And again he sent another slave, and they beat him also and mistreated him and sent him back empty-handed. 12 And again he sent a third, but they wounded him too, and threw him outside. 13 Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What can I do? I will send them my dear son; perhaps they will respect him.' 14 But when the tenants saw him, they argued with one another, 'This is his heir! Let us kill him, so that the property will belong to us!' 15 So they drove him out of the vineyard and killed him. Now what will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and put those tenants to death, and give the vineyard to others." When they heard this they said, "Heaven forbid!"
Riverside(i) 9 He began and gave the people this illustration: "A man planted a vineyard and let it out to grape-growers and went abroad for a long time. 10 At the proper season he sent to the grape-growers a servant for them to give him a part of the fruit of the vineyard. But the grape-growers beat him, and sent him away empty-handed. 11 He afterwards sent another servant. That one, too, they beat and insulted and sent away empty-handed. 12 Then he sent a third. But this one, too, they wounded and threw out. 13 The owner of the vineyard said, 'I will send my son, my beloved. Perhaps they will reverence him.' 14 But when the grape-growers saw him, they conferred with one another and said, 'This is the heir. Let us kill him so that the inheritance may be ours.' 15 So they threw him outside of the vineyard and killed him. What now will the owner of the vineyard do? 16 He will come and destroy those grape-growers and will give the vineyard to others." When they heard this, they exclaimed, "May it never be!"
MNT(i) 9 Then he began to tell the people this parable. "There was a man who planted a vineyard, and let it out to vine-dressers, and went to another country for a long time. 10 "At harvest-time he sent a slave to the vine-dressers, to ask them to give him a share of the crop; but the vine-dresser beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 11 "Then he sent another slave; and him also they flogged and handled shamefully and sent him away empty-handed. 12 "Then he sent yet a third, and him to they wounded and threw him out. 13 "Then the master of the vineyard said: "'What shall I do? I will send my beloved Son; it may be that they will reverence him.' 14 "But when the vine-dressers saw him, they reasoned together, saying. 'This is the heir. Let us kill him so that the inheritance may be ours.' 15 "So they turned him out of the vineyard and killed him. "What will the master of the vineyard do to them? 16 "He will come and destroy those vine-dressers, and will give the vineyard to others."
Lamsa(i) 9 And he began to say this parable to the people, A man planted a vineyard, and leased it to laborers, and went on a journey for a long time. 10 And at the season he sent his servant to the laborers to give him of the fruit of the vineyard; but the laborers beat him and sent him back empty. 11 And again he sent another of his servants; but they beat him also, and treated him shamefully, and sent him back empty. 12 And again he sent the third one; but they wounded him also, and threw him outside. 13 Then the owner of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will see him and feel ashamed. 14 But when the laborers saw him, they reasoned with themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy those laborers, and give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, This will never happen.
CLV(i) 9 Now He begins to be telling to the people this parable, "A certain man plants a vineyard and leased it to farmers, and travels a considerable time." 10 And in season he dispatches to the farmers a slave, that they shall give him of the fruit of the vineyard. Yet the farmers, lashing him, send him away empty." 11 And, in addition, he sent a different slave. Yet that one also, lashing and dishonoring, those men send away empty." 12 And, in addition, he sent a third. Yet wounding this one also, those men cast him out." 13 Now the lord of the vineyard said, 'What shall I be doing? I shall be sending my son, the beloved. Him they will be respecting equally with me.'" 14 Now on perceiving him, the farmers reasoned with one another, saying, 'This is the enjoyer of the allotment. Hither! We should be killing him, that the enjoyer of the allotment may become ours.'" 15 And, casting him outside of the vineyard, they kill him. What, then, will the lord of the vineyard be doing to them? 16 He will be coming and destroying these farmers and will be giving the vineyard to others. Now those hearing say, "May it not be coming to that!"
Williams(i) 9 Then He went on to tell the people the following story: "Once upon a time a man planted a vineyard and leased it to tenant farmers, and then went abroad for a long stay. 10 So at the proper time He sent a slave to the tenants, that they might pay him his part of the grape-crop, but the tenants beat him and sent him back empty-handed. 11 Then again he sent another slave, and they beat him and insulted him, and sent him back empty-handed. 12 And again he sent a third slave, and they wounded him and threw him out of the vineyard. 13 Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my dearly loved son. They will, I should think, respect him.' 14 But when the tenants saw him, they argued among themselves, 'This is the heir; let us kill him, so that what he inherits may be ours.' 15 So they drove him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and put those tenants to death and give the vineyard to others." When they heard this, they said, "May it never be so!"
BBE(i) 9 And he gave the people this story: A man made a vine-garden and gave the use of it to some field-workers and went into another country for a long time. 10 And at the right time he sent a servant to the workers to get part of the fruit from the vines; but the workmen gave him blows and sent him away with nothing. 11 And he sent another servant, and they gave blows to him in the same way, and put shame on him, and sent him away with nothing. 12 And he sent a third, and they gave him wounds and put him out. 13 And the lord of the garden said, What am I to do? I will send my dearly loved son; they may give respect to him. 14 But when the workmen saw him, they said to one another, This is he who will one day be the owner of the property: let us put him to death and the heritage will be ours. 15 And driving him out of the garden they put him to death. Now what will the lord do to these workmen? 16 He will come and put them to destruction and give the garden to others. And when he said this, they said, May it not be so.
MKJV(i) 9 And He began to speak to the people this parable: A certain man planted a vineyard and let it out to vinedressers. And he went into a far country for a long time. 10 And in season he sent a servant to the vinedressers, so that they should give him the fruit of the vineyard. But the vinedressers beat him and sent him away empty. 11 And again he sent another servant. And they also beat him and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. 12 And again he sent a third. And they also wounded him and cast him out. 13 And the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. It may be that they will respect him when they see him. 14 But when the vinedressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir! Come, let us kill him so that the inheritance may be ours. 15 So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then shall the lord of the vineyard do to them? 16 He shall come and destroy these vinedressers and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard this, they said, Let it not be!

YAH SHUA ON THE CULTIVATORS
And he begins to word this parable to the people; A human plants a vineyard and leases it to cultivators and goes abroad for an ample time: 10 and at the season he apostolizes a servant to the cultivators to give him of the fruit of the vineyard; but the cultivators flog him and apostolize him forth empty: 11 and again he adds to send another servant; and they also flog him and dishonor him and apostolize him empty: 12 and again he adds to send a third; and they also traumatize him and cast him. 13 And the adoni of the vineyard says, What do I? I send my beloved son: perhaps they respect him when they see him. 14 But the cultivators see him, and they reason among themselves, wording, This is the heir: come, we slaughter him, that the inheritance be ours. 15 - so they cast him from the vineyard and slaughter him. So what is the adoni of the vineyard to do to them? 16 He comes and destroys these cultivators and gives the vineyard to others. - and they hear; and they say, So be it not.
AUV(i) 9 Then Jesus began speaking to the people. [Note: And perhaps to the religious leaders as well. See Mark 11:18 with 12:1]. He told them this parable: “A man planted a vineyard, then leased it out to tenant farmers and went to another country for a long time. 10 And when the [grape harvest] season came, the owner of the farm sent a slave to the tenant farmers, asking them for the grape harvest [to be delivered to him]. But the tenant farmers beat the slave and sent him away empty handed. 11 Then he sent out another slave [i.e., to arrange for receiving the crop], but the tenant farmers beat him also, shamefully abused him and sent him away empty handed [as well]. 12 So, he sent a third [slave] and they wounded him also and threw him out [of the vineyard]. 13 Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do [about this]? I will send my dearly loved son. Hopefully, they will treat him with respect.’ 14 But when the tenant farmers saw him, they began reasoning with one another, saying, ‘This is the heir [to the vineyard]; let us kill him so the inheritance will be ours.’ 15 So, they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. Therefore, what will the owner of the vineyard do to them? [Jesus asked]. 16 He will come and kill those tenant farmers and will give the vineyard to other people.” And when the people heard [Him say] this, they said, “May that never happen.”
ACV(i) 9 And he began to speak this parable to the people. A man planted a vineyard, and leased it to farmers, and went abroad for a considerable time. 10 And at the season he sent a bondman to the farmers, so that they would give him from the fruit of the vineyard. But having beaten him, the farmers sent him away empty. 11 And he proceeded to send another bondman. And they, having beaten and shamefully treated, sent him also away empty. 12 And he proceeded to send a third. And they also having wounded this man, cast him out. 13 And the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Perhaps they will be made ashamed after seeing this man. 14 But when the farmers saw him, they deliberated among themselves, saying, This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, so that the inheritance may become ours. 15 And having cast him outside of the vineyard, they killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others. And having heard it, they said, May it not happen!

RYLT(i) 9 And he began to speak unto the people this simile: 'A certain man planted a vineyard, and gave it out to husbandmen, and went abroad for a long time, 10 and at the season he sent unto the husbandmen a servant, that from the fruit of the vineyard they may give to him, but the husbandmen having beat him, did send him away empty. 11 'And he added to send another servant, and they that one also having beaten and dishonoured, did send away empty; 12 and he added to send a third, and this one also, having wounded, they did cast out. 13 'And the owner of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my son -- the beloved, perhaps having seen this one, they will do reverence; 14 and having seen him, the husbandmen reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, we may kill him, that the inheritance may become ours; 15 and having cast him outside of the vineyard, they killed him; what, then, shall the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come, and destroy these husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others.' And having heard, they said, 'Let it not be!'
EJ2000(i) 9 ¶ And he began to speak this parable to the people: A certain man planted a vineyard and let it out to husbandmen and went into a far country for a long time. 10 And at the season he sent a slave to the husbandmen that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard, but the husbandmen beat him and sent him away empty. 11 And again he sent another slave, and they beat him also and treated him shamefully and sent him away empty. 12 And again he sent a third, and they wounded him also and cast him out. 13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; it may be they will reverence him when they see him. 14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, let us kill him that the inheritance may be ours. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them? 16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, May it not be!
CAB(i) 9 Then He began to tell the people this parable: "A man planted a vineyard, leased it to farmers, and went on a journey for a long time. 10 Now at vintage-time he sent a servant to the farmers, that they might give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers flogged him and sent him away empty-handed. 11 And again he sent another servant; and they flogged him also, treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed. 12 And again he sent a third; and they wounded him also and threw him out. 13 Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Perhaps when they see him they will respect him.' 14 But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, so that the inheritance may be ours.' 15 And casting him out of the vineyard, they killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy those farmers and give the vineyard to others." And when they heard it they said, "May it never be!"
WPNT(i) 9 Then He began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard, leased it to farmers, and went away on a long journey. 10 At the proper time he sent a slave to the farmers, that they might give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers flogged him and sent him away empty-handed. 11 Again he sent a different slave; so they flogged him also, treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed. 12 And again he sent a third; but they wounded him also and threw him out. 13 Then the owner of the vineyard said: ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; hopefully they will respect him when they see him.’ 14 But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying: ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, so that the inheritance may become ours.’ 15 So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What therefore will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy those farmers and give the vineyard to others.” Having heard it they said, “May it never be!”
JMNT(i) 9 Now after that, He began to tell this illustration (parable) to the people: "A person planted a vineyard and then let it out to tenant-farmers (or: leased it to vine-dressers). Next he left home on a journey (or: travels abroad) for an extended period (a considerable time that is sufficient [for the vineyard to produce fruit]). 10 "And then, in the appropriate season, he sent off a slave to the tenant-farmers (vine-dressers) with the purpose that they will proceed giving to him [his portion] from the fruit (or: crop) of the vineyard. But the tenants (vineyard workers; cultivators), after whipping (lashing) and beating [him] to the point or removing skin, sent him forth (or: out) and away empty-handed. 11 "So next, he put forth a different slave to send. Yet that one also, after lashing and beating [him] – as well as dishonoring [him] – they sent forth and away empty-handed. 12 "Then he put forth a third one to send – but, after wounding, injuring and traumatizing this one, they threw [him] out. 13 "So the owner (lord) of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do?... I will proceed sending my son, the beloved one (may signify: the only one). All things being equal, chances are they will proceed being turned within so as to be showing respect to this one.' 14 "Now upon seeing him, the tenant-farmers (vineyard cultivators) began reasoning and deliberating with one another, one after another saying, 'This one is the heir! We should (or: Let us) at once kill him off, so that the inheritance can (or: may) come to be ours!' 15 "And so, after throwing him outside the vineyard, they killed [him]. What, therefore, will the owner (lord) of the vineyard proceed doing to them?... 16 "He will proceed in coming and will be progressively destroying these tenant-farmers, and then he will be progressively giving the vineyard to other folks." Now upon hearing [this], they said, "May it not happen (or: come to that)!"
NSB(i) 9 He told the people an illustration: »A man planted a vineyard. He rented it to tenants and went to another country for a long time. 10 »At harvest time he sent a servant to the renters to collect fruit of the vineyard. The renters beat him, and sent him away empty. 11 »He sent another servant who was also treated shamefully, beaten and sent away empty. 12 »A third servant was sent. They wounded him and threw him out. 13 »The owner of the vineyard said, what should I do? I will send my beloved son. Maybe they will respect him. 14 »When the renters saw him they reasoned that this is the heir, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. 15 »They threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy the renters and will give the vineyard to others. When they heard it, they said, God forbid!
ISV(i) 9 The Parable about the Tenant Farmers
Then he began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard, leased it to tenant farmers, and went abroad for a long time. 10 At the right time he sent a servant to the farmers in order to get his share of the produce of the vineyard. But the farmers beat him and sent him back empty-handed. 11 He sent another servant, and they beat him, too, treated him shamefully, and sent him back empty-handed. 12 Then he sent a third, and they wounded him and threw him out, too.
13 “Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What should I do? I’ll send my son whom I love. Maybe they’ll respect him.’ 14 But when the farmers saw him, they talked it over among themselves and said, ‘This is the heir. Let’s kill him so that the inheritance will be ours!’ 15 So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. Now what will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy those farmers and give the vineyard to others.”
Those who heard him said, “That must never happen!”

BKR(i) 9 I počal lidu praviti podobenství toto: Člověk jeden štípil vinici, a pronajal ji vinařům, a sám odšed podál byl tam za mnohé časy. 10 A v čas slušný poslal k vinařům služebníka, aby z ovoce vinice dali jemu. Vinaři pak zmrskavše jej, pustili ho prázdného. 11 A on poslal druhého služebníka. Oni pak i toho zmrskavše a zohavivše, pustili prázdného. 12 I poslal třetího. Ale oni i toho zranivše, vystrčili ven. 13 Tedy řekl Pán vinice: Co učiním? Pošli svého milého Syna. Snad když toho uzří, ostýchati se budou. 14 Uzřevše pak vinaři, rozmlouvali mezi sebou, řkouce: Tentoť jest dědic; pojďte, zabijme jej, aby naše bylo dědictví. 15 A vystrčivše jej ven z vinice, zamordovali ho. Což tedy učiní jim Pán vinice? 16 Přijde a vyhladí vinaře ty, a dá vinici jiným. To uslyšavše, řekli: Odstup to.

Mitä viinamäen isäntä on tekevä heille?

Li antann li avèk kèk moun pou okipe jaden an pou li. Apre sa, li kite peyi a, li al fè lontan deyò. 10 Lè sezon rekòt la rive, li voye yon domestik kote moun ki t'ap pran swen jaden an pou li. Li te voye chache pòsyon pa l' nan rekòt rezen an nan men yo. Men, kiltivatè yo bat domestik la byen bat, epi yo voye l' tounen bay mèt jaden an san yo pa ba l' anyen. 11 Mèt jaden an voye yon lòt domestik kote yo ankò. Men, yo bat li byen bat, yo joure l' byen joure, epi yo voye l' tounen san yo pa ba l' anyen. 12 Mèt jaden an voye yon twazyèm domestik. Fwa sa a, yo blese l', yo mete l' deyò. 13 Lè sa a, mèt jaden an di: Kisa pou m' fè? Bon, mwen pral voye pitit gason mwen renmen anpil la. Omwens y'a gen respè pou li. 14 Men, lè kiltivatè yo wè pitit mèt jaden an, yonn di lòt: Men eritye a! Ann touye l', konsa jaden an va rete pou nou. 15 Yo jete l' deyò jaden an, yo touye li. Atò, kisa mèt jaden an pral fè yo? 16 L'ap vini, l'ap fè touye tout kiltivatè yo, epi l'ap bay lòt moun jaden rezen an.
13 Monda azért a szõlõnek ura: Mit cselekedjem? Mit cselekszik azért a szõlõnek ura azokkal?

Latvian(i) 9 Bet Viņš sāka stāstīt tautai šādu līdzību: Kāds cilvēks iestādīja vīna dārzu un iznomāja to vīnkopjiem, bet pats palika tālumā ilgāku laiku. 13 Tad vīna dārza kungs sacīja: Ko man darīt? Es sūtīšu savu mīļo dēlu; varbūt, redzēdami to, tie viņu ievēros. 15 Un tie, izmetuši viņu no vīna dārza ārā, nonāvēja to. Ko nu gan darīs tiem vīna dārza kungs? 16 Viņš atnāks un iznīcinās šos dārzniekus un vīna dārzu atdos citiem. To dzirdēdami, tie sacīja Viņam: Tas nedrīkst notikt!
Lithuanian(i) 9 Jis pradėjo pasakoti žmonėms tokį palyginimą: “Vienas žmogus pasodino vynuogyną, išnuomojo jį vynininkams ir ilgesniam laikui iškeliavo svetur. 10 Atėjus metui, jis nusiuntė pas vynininkus tarną, kad tie jam duotų vynuogyno derliaus dalį. Tačiau vynininkai sumušė jį ir paleido tuščiomis. 11 Jis vėl nusiuntė kitą tarną, bet ir tą jie sumušė, išjuokė ir paleido jį tuščiomis. 12 Tuomet jis pasiuntė dar trečią, bet jie ir šitą sužeidę išvarė. 13 Tada vynuogyno šeimininkas tarė: ‘Ką man daryti?

16 Przyjdzie, a potraci one winiarze, a winnicę odda innym.
16 Virá e destruirá esses lavradores, e dará a vinha a outros.
