Luke 24:36-49

WPNT(i) 36 As they were saying these things, indeed, Jesus Himself stood in their midst, and He said to them, “Peace to you”. 37 But they, terrified, supposed they were seeing a ghost, and were becoming fearful. 38 And He said to them: “Why are you troubled?” and “Why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 Look at my hands and feet; it is I myself! Feel me and see; a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” 40 And saying this He showed them His hands and His feet. 41 But as they were still disbelieving and marveling, because of the joy, He said to them, “Do you have any food here?” 42 So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish and some honeycomb. 43 And taking it He ate in their presence. 44 Then He said to them, “These are the words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything that is written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning me must be fulfilled.” 45 Then He opened their understanding so as to comprehend the Scriptures. 46 And He said to them: “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 Take note, I am sending the Promise of my Father upon you; but you must stay in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”
