Riverside⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹⁸ While Jesus was talking to them, a synagogue Director came and bowed down before him and said, "My daughter has just died; but come and lay your hand upon her and she will live." ¹⁹ Jesus rose and followed him, and so did his disciples. ²⁰ Suddenly a woman who had been suffering for twelve years from hemorrhage came up behind him and touched the tassel of his cloak. ²¹ For she said to herself, "If I touch only his cloak, I shall be healed." ²² But Jesus turned and, seeing her, said, "Courage, daughter, your faith has healed you." The woman was cured from that hour. ²³ Jesus entered the house of the Director and saw the flute-players and the crowd that was noisily lamenting, and he said, ²⁴ "Leave the room, for the girl is not dead; she is sleeping." They laughed at him. ²⁵ But after the crowd had been turned out, he went in and took hold of her hand and the girl rose up.
