Matthew 19:1-12 And it came to pass , that when Jesus had finished these sayings , he departed from Galilee , and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

3 G5330 The Pharisees G2532 also G4334 came [G5656] G846 unto him G3985 , tempting [G5723] G846 him G2532 , and G3004 saying [G5723] G846 unto him G1487 , Is it lawful G1832 [G5748] G444 for a man G630 to put away [G5658] G846 his G1135 wife G2596 for G3956 every G156 cause?

4 G1161 And G611 he answered [G5679] G2036 and said [G5627] G846 unto them G314 , Have ye G3756 not G314 read [G5627] G3754 , that G3588 he which G4160 made [G5660] G575 them at G746 the beginning G4160 made [G5656] G846 them G730 male G2532 and G2338 female,

5 G2532 And G2036 said [G5627] G5127 , For this G1752 cause G444 shall a man G2641 leave [G5692] G3962 father G2532 and G3384 mother G2532 , and G4347 shall cleave [G5701] G846 to his G1135 wife G2532 : and G1417 they twain G2071 shall be [G5704] G1519 G3391 one G4561 flesh?

6 G5620 Wherefore G1526 they are [G5748] G3765 no more G1417 twain G235 , but G3391 one G4561 flesh G3739 . What G3767 therefore G2316 God G4801 hath joined together [G5656] G5563 , let G3361 not G444 man G5563 put asunder [G5720] .

7 G3004 They say [G5719] G846 unto him G5101 , Why G3475 did Moses G3767 then G1781 command [G5662] G1325 to give [G5629] G975 a writing G647 of divorcement G2532 , and G630 to put G846 her G630 away [G5658] ?

8 G3004 He saith [G5719] G846 unto them G3754 , G3475 Moses G4314 because of G4641 the hardness G5216 of your G4641 hearts G2010 suffered [G5656] G5213 you G630 to put away [G5658] G5216 your G1135 wives G1161 : but G575 from G746 the beginning G1096 it was [G5754] G3756 not G3779 so.

9 G1161 And G3004 I say [G5719] G5213 unto you G3754 , G3739 Whosoever G302 G630 shall put away [G5661] G846 his G1135 wife G1508 , except G1909 it be for G4202 fornication G2532 , and G1060 shall marry [G5661] G243 another G3429 , committeth adultery [G5736] G2532 : and G1060 whoso marrieth [G5660] G3588 her which G630 is put away [G5772] G3429 doth commit adultery [G5736] .

10 G846 His G3101 disciples G3004 say [G5719] G846 unto him G1487 , If G156 the case G444 of the man G2076 be [G5748] G3779 so G3326 with G1135 his wife G4851 , it is G3756 not G4851 good [G5719] G1060 to marry [G5658] .

11 G1161 But G2036 he said [G5627] G846 unto them G3956 , All G3756 men cannot G5562 receive [G5719] G5126 this G3056 saying G235 , save G3739 they to whom G1325 it is given [G5769] .

12 G1063 For G1526 there are [G5748] G2135 some eunuchs G3748 , which G3779 were so G1080 born [G5681] G1537 from G3384 their mother's G2836 womb G2532 : and G1526 there are [G5748] G2135 some eunuchs G3748 , which G2134 were made eunuchs [G5656] G5259 of G444 men G2532 : and G1526 there be [G5748] G2135 eunuchs G3748 , which G2134 have made G1438 themselves G2134 eunuchs [G5656] G1223 for G932 the kingdom G3772 of heaven's sake G1410 . ERV⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹ And it came to pass when Jesus had finished these words, he departed from Galilee, and came into the borders of Judaea beyond Jordan; ² and great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there. ³ And there came unto him Pharisees, tempting him, and saying, Is it lawful [for a man] to put away his wife for every cause? ⁴ And he answered and said, Have ye not read, that he which made [them] from the beginning made them male and female, ⁵ and said, For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the twain shall become one flesh? ⁶ So that they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. ⁷ They say unto him, Why then did Moses command to give a bill of divorcement, and to put [her] away? ⁸ He saith unto them, Moses for your hardness of heart suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it hath not been so. ⁹ And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and he that marrieth her when she is put away committeth adultery. ¹⁰ The disciples say unto him, If the case of the man is so with his wife, it is not expedient to marry. ¹¹ But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, but they to whom it is given. ¹² For there are eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are eunuchs, which were made eunuchs by men: and there are eunuchs, which made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
