Luke 24:13-21

MLV(i) 13 And behold, two out of them were traveling that same day to a village whose name was Emmaus, which was sixty furlongs distant from Jerusalem. 14 And they were conversing with one another concerning all these things which have befallen them. 15 And it happened, while they are conversing and debating together, that Jesus himself, having drawn near, was traveling together with them. 16 But their eyes were being held-fast so as not to recognize him. 17 But he said to them, What words are these which you are exchanging back and forth with one another, while walking? and you have a gloomy face, why?
18 But one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to him, Are you sojourning alone in Jerusalem and did not know of the things which have happened in her in these days?
19 And he said to them, What things?
But they said to him, The things concerning Jesus from Nazareth, who became a prophet, a mighty man in works and word in front of God and all the people; 20 and how the high-priests and our rulers gave him up to the condemnation of death and crucified him. 21 Now we were hoping that he was the one who is about to redeem Israel. But yet today, together with all these things, is bringing us the third day from which these things happened.
