2 Samuel 4:5-12 And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite , Rechab and Baanah , went , and came about the heat of the day to the house of Ishbosheth , who lay on a bed at noon.

6 H935 And they came thither [H8804] H8432 into the midst H1004 of the house H3947 , as though they would have fetched [H8802] H2406 wheat H5221 ; and they smote [H8686] H2570 him under the fifth H7394 rib : and Rechab H1196 and Baanah H251 his brother H4422 escaped [H8738] .

7 H935 For when they came [H8799] H1004 into the house H7901 , he lay [H8802] H4296 on his bed H2315 in his bedchamber H4904 H5221 , and they smote [H8686] H4191 him, and slew [H8686] H5493 him, and beheaded [H8686] H3947 him, and took [H8799] H7218 his head H3212 , and gat them away [H8799] H1870 through H6160 the plain H3915 all night.

8 H935 And they brought [H8686] H7218 the head H378 of Ishbosheth H1732 unto David H2275 to Hebron H559 , and said [H8799] H4428 to the king H7218 , Behold the head H378 of Ishbosheth H1121 the son H7586 of Saul H341 thine enemy [H8802] H1245 , which sought [H8765] H5315 thy life H3068 ; and the LORD H5414 hath [H8799] H5360 avenged H113 my lord H4428 the king H3117 this day H7586 of Saul H2233 , and of his seed.

9 H1732 And David H6030 answered [H8799] H7394 Rechab H1196 and Baanah H251 his brother H1121 , the sons H7417 of Rimmon H886 the Beerothite H559 , and said [H8799] H3068 unto them, As the LORD H2416 liveth H6299 , who hath redeemed [H8804] H5315 my soul H6869 out of all adversity,

10 H5046 When one told [H8688] H559 me, saying [H8800] H7586 , Behold, Saul H4191 is dead [H8804] H5869 , thinking to have brought H1319 good tidings [H8764] H270 , I took hold [H8799] H2026 of him, and slew [H8799] H6860 him in Ziklag H5414 , who thought that I would have given [H8800] H1309 him a reward for his tidings:

11 H7563 How much more, when wicked H582 men H2026 have slain [H8804] H6662 a righteous H376 person H1004 in his own house H4904 upon his bed H1245 ? shall I not therefore now require [H8762] H1818 his blood H3027 of your hand H1197 , and take you away [H8765] H776 from the earth?

12 H1732 And David H6680 commanded [H8762] H5288 his young men H2026 , and they slew [H8799] H7112 them, and cut off [H8762] H3027 their hands H7272 and their feet H8518 , and hanged them up [H8799] H1295 over the pool H2275 in Hebron H3947 . But they took [H8804] H7218 the head H378 of Ishbosheth H6912 , and buried [H8799] H6913 it in the sepulchre H74 of Abner H2275 in Hebron.
