Jonah 3:5-10 And the people of Nineveh believed God; and they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

6 H1697 And the tidings H5060 reached H4428 the king H5210 of Nineveh, H6965 and he arose H3678 from his throne, H5674 and laid H155 his robe H3680 from him, and covered H8242 him with sackcloth, H3427 and sat H665 in ashes.

7 H2199 And he made proclamation H559 and published H5210 through Nineveh H2940 by the decree H4428 of the king H1419 and his nobles, H559 saying, H120 Let neither man H929 nor beast, H1241 herd H6629 nor flock, H2938 taste H3972 anything; H7462 let them not feed, H8354 nor drink H4325 water;

8 H3680 but let them be covered H8242 with sackcloth, H120 both man H929 and beast, H7121 and let them cry H2394 mightily H430 unto God: H7725 yea, let them turn H376 every one H7451 from his evil H1870 way, H2555 and from the violence H3709 that is in his hands.

9 H3045 Who knoweth H430 whether God H7725 will not turn H5162 and repent, H7725 and turn away H2740 from his fierce H639 anger, H6 that we perish not?

10 H430 And God H7200 saw H4639 their works, H7725 that they turned H7451 from their evil H1870 way; H430 and God H5162 repented H7451 of the evil H1696 which he said H6213 he would do H6213 unto them; and he did it not.
