Deuteronomy 2:26-36 And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth unto Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying,

26 H7971 And I sent H4397 messengers H4057 out of the wilderness H6932 of Kedemoth H5511 unto Sihon H4428 king H2809 of Heshbon H1697 with words H7965 of peace, H559 saying,

27 H5674 Let me pass H776 through thy land: H3212 I will go H1870 along by the highway, H5493 I will turn H3225 neither unto the right hand H8040 nor to the left.

28 H7666 Thou shalt sell H400 me food H3701 for money, H398 that I may eat; H5414 and give H4325 me water H3701 for money, H8354 that I may drink: H5674 only let me pass through H7272 on my feet,

29 H1121 as the children H6215 of Esau H3427 that dwell H8165 in Seir, H4125 and the Moabites H3427 that dwell H6144 in Ar, H6213 did H5674 unto me; until I shall pass over H3383 the Jordan H776 into the land H3068 which Jehovah H430 our God H5414 giveth us.

30 H5511 But Sihon H4428 king H2809 of Heshbon H14 would H5674 not let us pass H3068 by him; for Jehovah H430 thy God H7185 hardened H7307 his spirit, H3824 and made his heart H553 obstinate, H5414 that he might deliver H3027 him into thy hand, H3117 as at this day.

31 H3068 And Jehovah H559 said H7200 unto me, Behold, H2490 I have begun H5414 to deliver H5511 up Sihon H776 and his land H6440 before H2490 thee: begin H3423 to possess, H3423 that thou mayest inherit H776 his land.

32 H5511 Then Sihon H3318 came out H7125 against H5971 us, he and all his people, H4421 unto battle H3096 at Jahaz.

33 H3068 And Jehovah H430 our God H5414 delivered H6440 him up before H5221 us; and we smote H1121 him, and his sons, H5971 and all his people.

34 H3920 And we took H5892 all his cities H6256 at that time, H2763 and utterly destroyed H4962 every inhabited H5892 city, H802 with the women H2945 and the little ones; H7604 we left H8300 none remaining:

35 H929 only the cattle H962 we took for a prey H7998 unto ourselves, with the spoil H5892 of the cities H3920 which we had taken.

36 H6177 From Aroer, H8193 which is on the edge H5158 of the valley H769 of the Arnon, H5892 and from the city H5158 that is in the valley, H1568 even unto Gilead, H7151 there was not a city H7682 too high H3068 for us; Jehovah H430 our God H5414 delivered H6440 up all before us:
