2 Samuel 15:2-7 And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that, when any man had a suit which should come to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.

3 H53 And Absalom H559 said H7200 unto him, See, H1697 thy matters H2896 are good H5228 and right; H4428 but there is no man deputed of the king H8085 to hear thee.

4 H53 Absalom H559 said H7760 moreover, Oh that I were made H8199 judge H776 in the land, H376 that every man H7379 who hath any suit H4941 or cause H935 might come H6663 unto me, and I would do him justice!

5 H376 And it was so, that, when any man H7126 came nigh H7812 to do him obeisance, H7971 he put forth H3027 his hand, H2388 and took H5401 hold of him, and kissed him.

6 H1697 And on this manner H6213 did H53 Absalom H3478 to all Israel H935 that came H4428 to the king H4941 for judgment: H53 so Absalom H1589 stole H3820 the hearts H582 of the men H3478 of Israel.

7 H7093 And it came to pass at the end H705 of forty H8141 years, H53 that Absalom H559 said H4428 unto the king, H3212 I pray thee, let me go H7999 and pay H5088 my vow, H5087 which I have vowed H3068 unto Jehovah, H2275 in Hebron.
