Haggai 1:1-12 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, the Word of Yahweh came by Haggai, the prophet, to Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,

2 H559 "This is what H3068 Yahweh H6635 of Armies H559 says: H5971 These people H559 say, H6256 ‘The time H935 hasn't yet come, H6256 the time H3068 for Yahweh's H1004 house H1129 to be built.'"

3 H1697 Then the Word H3068 of Yahweh H3027 came by H2292 Haggai, H5030 the prophet, H559 saying,

4 H6256 "Is it a time H3427 for you yourselves to dwell H5603 in your paneled H1004 houses, H1004 while this house H2720 lies waste?

5 H3068 Now therefore this is what Yahweh H6635 of Armies H559 says: H7760 Consider H1870 your ways.

6 H2232 You have sown H7235 much, H935 and bring H4592 in little. H398 You eat, H7654 but you don't have enough. H8354 You drink, H7937 but you aren't filled with drink. H3847 You clothe H2527 yourselves, but no one is warm, H7936 and he who earns wages H7936 earns wages H6872 to put them into a bag H5344 with holes in it."

7 H3068 This is what Yahweh H6635 of Armies H559 says: H7760 "Consider H1870 your ways.

8 H5927 Go up H2022 to the mountain, H935 bring H6086 wood, H1129 and build H1004 the house. H7521 I will take pleasure H3513 in it, and I will be glorified," H559 says H3068 Yahweh.

9 H6437 "You looked H7235 for much, H4592 and, behold, it came to little; H935 and when you brought H1004 it home, H5301 I blew H5002 it away. Why?" says H3068 Yahweh H6635 of Armies, H3282 "Because H1004 of my house H2720 that lies waste, H7323 while each of you is busy H376 with his H1004 own house.

10 H8064 Therefore for your sake the heavens H3607 withhold H2919 the dew, H776 and the earth H3607 withholds H2981 its fruit.

11 H7121 I called H2721 for a drought H776 on the land, H2022 on the mountains, H1715 on the grain, H8492 on the new wine, H3323 on the oil, H127 on that which the ground H3318 brings forth, H120 on men, H929 on livestock, H3018 and on all the labor H3709 of the hands."

12 H2216 Then Zerubbabel, H1121 the son H7597 of Shealtiel, H3091 and Joshua, H1121 the son H3087 of Jehozadak, H1419 the high H3548 priest, H7611 with all the remnant H5971 of the people, H8085 obeyed H6963 the voice H3068 of Yahweh, H430 their God, H1697 and the words H2292 of Haggai, H5030 the prophet, H3068 as Yahweh, H430 their God, H7971 had sent H5971 him; and the people H3372 feared H6440 H3068 Yahweh.
