Noyes⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹ And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led in the Spirit in the wilderness ² forty days, tempted by the Devil. And he ate nothing in those days; and when they were ended, he was hungry. ³ And the Devil said to him, If thou art the Son of God, command this stone that it become a loaf of bread. ⁴ And Jesus answered him, It is written, "Not on bread alone shall man live."
