MLV(i)
22 And behold one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, comes and seeing him, he falls at his feet;
23 and was pleading with him much, saying, My young-daughter is holding on her last moments. I pray that you come and might lay your hands on her, that she may be cured and will live.
24 And he went with him.
And a large crowd was following him and they were pressing against him. 25 And a certain woman, being in her a flowing of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things under many physicians and had spent all that she had and was profited nothing, but rather having come to be worse. 27 Having heard concerning Jesus, she came in the crowd behind and touched his garment. 28 For she was saying, Even if I touch but his garments, I will be cured. 29 And immediately the spring of her blood was dried up, and she knew that she had been healed from the disorder in her body. 30 And immediately Jesus, fully knowing in himself that the power had gone forth from him and having turned around in the crowd, said, Who touched my garments?
31 And his disciples were saying to him, You see the crowd pressing against you and you say, Who touched me? 32 And he was looking around to see her who had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what has happened upon her, came and fell down before him and spoke all the truth to him.
34 And he said to her, Daughter, your faith has saved you; go in peace and be healthy from your disorder.
35 While he is still speaking, they come from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying, Your daughter is dead. Why are you still bothering the Teacher?
36 But Jesus immediately having heard the word being spoken, says to the ruler of the synagogue, Do not fear, only believe. 37 And he allowed no one to follow him, except Peter and James and John the brother of James. 38 And he comes to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and he views an uproar, many weeping and wailing. 39 And having entered in, he says to them, Why are you in an uproar and weeping? The child is not dead, but is sleeping. 40 And they were laughing at him. But having cast them all out, he takes the father of the child and her mother and those with him and he traveled into where the child was reclining. 41 And taking-hold of the child by the hand, he says to her, Talitha kumi; which is, after being translated, Girl, I say to you, Arise. 42 And immediately the girl rose up and was walking; for she was twelve years old. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. 43 And he ordered them much in order that no one should know this and he said that something should be given to her to eat.
