Deuteronomy 14:3-21 Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.

3 H398 Thou shalt not eat [H8799] H8441 any abominable thing.

4 H929 These are the beasts H398 which ye shall eat [H8799] H7794 : the ox H7716 , the sheep H3775 H5795 , and the goat,

5 H354 The hart H6643 , and the roebuck H3180 , and the fallow deer H689 , and the wild goat H1788 , and the pygarg H8377 , and the wild ox H2169 , and the chamois.

6 H929 And every beast H6536 that parteth [H8688] H6541 the hoof H8157 , and cleaveth H8156 the cleft [H8802] H8147 into two H6541 claws H5927 , and cheweth [H8688] H1625 the cud H929 among the beasts H398 , that ye shall eat [H8799] .

7 H398 Nevertheless these ye shall not eat [H8799] H5927 of them that chew [H8688] H1625 the cud H6536 , or of them that divide [H8688] H8156 the cloven [H8803] H6541 hoof H1581 ; as the camel H768 , and the hare H8227 , and the coney H5927 : for they chew [H8688] H1625 the cud H6536 , but divide [H8689] H6541 not the hoof H2931 ; therefore they are unclean unto you.

8 H2386 And the swine H6536 , because it divideth [H8688] H6541 the hoof H1625 , yet cheweth not the cud H2931 , it is unclean H398 unto you: ye shall not eat [H8799] H1320 of their flesh H5060 , nor touch [H8799] H5038 their dead carcase.

9 H398 These ye shall eat [H8799] H4325 of all that are in the waters H5579 : all that have fins H7193 and scales H398 shall ye eat [H8799] :

10 H5579 And whatsoever hath not fins H7193 and scales H398 ye may not eat [H8799] H2931 ; it is unclean unto you.

11 H2889 Of all clean H6833 birds H398 ye shall eat [H8799] .

12 H398 But these are they of which ye shall not eat [H8799] H5404 : the eagle H6538 , and the ossifrage H5822 , and the ospray,

13 H7201 And the glede H344 , and the kite H1772 , and the vulture H4327 after his kind,

14 H6158 And every raven H4327 after his kind,

18 H2624 And the stork H601 , and the heron H4327 after her kind H1744 , and the lapwing H5847 , and the bat.

19 H8318 And every creeping thing H5775 that flieth H2931 is unclean H398 unto you: they shall not be eaten [H8735] .

20 H2889 But of all clean H5775 fowls H398 ye may eat [H8799] .

21 H398 Ye shall not eat [H8799] H5038 of any thing that dieth of itself H5414 : thou shalt give [H8799] H1616 it unto the stranger H8179 that is in thy gates H398 , that he may eat [H8804] H4376 it; or thou mayest sell [H8800] H5237 it unto an alien H6918 : for thou art an holy H5971 people H3068 unto the LORD H430 thy God H1310 . Thou shalt not seethe [H8762] H1423 a kid H517 in his mother's H2461 milk.

ERV⁽ⁱ⁾ ³ Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing. ⁴ These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat, ⁵ the hart, and the gazelle, and the roebuck, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the antelope, and the chamois. ⁶ And every beast that parteth the hoof, and hath the hoof cloven in two, [and] cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that ye shall eat. ⁷ Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that have the hoof cloven: the camel, and the hare, and the coney, because they chew the cud but part not the hoof, they are unclean unto you: ⁸ and the swine, because he parteth the hoof but cheweth not the cud, he is unclean unto you: of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcases ye shall not touch. ⁹ These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales shall ye eat: ¹⁰ and whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye shall not eat; it is unclean unto you. ¹¹ Of all clean birds ye may eat. ¹² But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the gier eagle, and the ospray; ¹³ and the glede, and the falcon, and the kite after its kind; ¹⁴ and every raven after its kind; ¹⁵ and the ostrich, and the night hawk, and the seamew, and the hawk after its kind; ¹⁶ the little owl, and the great owl, and the horned owl; ¹⁷ and the pelican, and the vulture, and the cormorant; ¹⁸ and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat. ¹⁹ And all winged creeping things are unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten. ²⁰ Of all clean fowls ye may eat. ²¹ Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou mayest give it unto the stranger that is within thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto a foreigner: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in its mother’s milk.
