42 H559 ויאמר said H3083 יהונתן And Jonathan H1732 לדוד to David, H1980 לך Go H7965 לשׁלום in peace, H834 אשׁר forasmuch as H7650 נשׁבענו we have sworn H8147 שׁנינו both H587 אנחנו of us H8034 בשׁם in the name H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H559 לאמר saying, H3068 יהוה The LORD H1961 יהיה be H996 ביני between H996 ובינך me and thee, and between H996 ובין H2233 זרעי my seed H996 ובין H2233 זרעך and thy seed H5704 עד forever. H5769 עולם׃ forever. H6965 ויקם And he arose H1980 וילך and departed: H3083 ויהונתן and Jonathan H935 בא went H5892 העיר׃ into the city.

And he arose.
1 Samuel 23:18The separation of two such faithful friends was equally grievous to them both, but David's case was the more deplorable: for when Jonathan was returning to his family and friends, David was leaving all his comforts, even those of God's sanctuary, and therefore his grief exceeded Jonathan's; or, perhaps it was because his temper was more tender and his passions stronger. They referred each other to the covenant of friendship that was between them, both of them being comforted thereby in this very mournful separation:--"We have sworn both of us in the name of the Lord, for ourselves and our heirs, that we and they will be faithful and kind to each other from generation to generation."
