Isaiah 57

ECB(i) 1
The just destruct and no man sets it to heart: and merciful men gather and no one discerns that the just are gathered from the face of the evil. 2 He enters into shalom; they rest in their beds - each walking in straightforwardness. 3 And approach here, you sons of the cloudgazer - the seed of the adulterer and the whore. 4 Against whom delight you yourselves? Against whom enlarge you the mouth and lengthen the tongue? Are you not children of rebellion? A seed of falsehood 5 heating up with elohim under every green tree? Slaughtering the children in the wadies under the clefts of the rocks? 6 Among the smooth stones/allotments of the wadi is your allotment; they - they are your pebble: also to them you pour a libation, you holocaust an offering. Sigh I in these? 7 On a lofty and lifted mountain you set your bed: also there you ascend to sacrifice sacrifice: 8 and behind the doors and the posts you set up your remembrance: for you expose yourself from me, and ascend; you enlarge your bed and you cut with them; you love their bed where you see it: 9 and you stroll to the sovereign with ointment and abound your perfumes; and send your ambassadors afar off and debase yourself to sheol: 10 you belabor in the greatness of your way; yet you say not, I quit! You find the life of your hand; so you are not worn. 11 And of whom are you concerned or awed, that you lie and neither remember me nor set it to your heart? Hushed I not eternally, and you awed me not? 12 I tell your justness and your works; and they benefit you not. 13 You cry; your throngs rescue you; and the wind bears them all away; vanity takes them: and he who seeks refuge in me inherits the land, and inherits my holy mountain: 14 and says, Raise! Raise! Face the way! Lift the stumblingblock from the way of my people. 15 For thus says the high and lifted One who tabernacles eternally - whose name is Holy; I tabernacle in the high and holy and with the crushed and lowly spirit - to enliven the spirit of the lowly, and to enliven the heart of the crushed. 16 For I neither contend eternally nor perpetually rage: for the spirit languishes at my face, and the breaths I work. 17 For the perversity of his greedy gain I rage and smite him: I hide myself and rage, and he goes on apostate in the way of his heart. 18 I see his ways and heal him; yes, I guide him; and shalam solaces to him and to his mourners. 19 I create the fruit of the lips; shalom, shalom to him who is far off and to him who is near, says Yah Veh; and I heal him. 20 And the wicked are as the driven sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters expel filth and mire. 21 There is no shalom, says my Elohim, to the wicked.
