THE BURDEN OF DAMMESEQ
The burden of Dammeseq: Behold, Dammeseq turns aside as a city and becomes a ruinous ruin: 2 the cities of Aroer are abandoned: they become for droves that crouch, and no one trembles them: 3 and the fortress from Ephrayim shabbathizes with the sovereigndom from Dammeseq; and the survivors of Aram become as the honor of the sons of Yisra El - an oracle of Yah Veh Sabaoth. 4 And so be it, in that day, the honor of Yaaqov languishes and the fatness of his flesh emaciates: 5 and so be it, as the harvester gathering the stalks and harvests the ears with his arm; and so be it, as gathering ears in the valley of Rephaim: 6 yet gleanings survive therein, as the shaking of an olive, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost branch, and four or five in the fruitbearing twigs - an oracle of Yah Veh Elohim of Yisra El. 7 In that day, humanity looks to his Worker, and his eyes see to the Holy One of Yisra El: 8 and he neither looks to the sacrifice altars - the work of his hands, nor sees what his fingers worked, either the asherah or the sun icons. 9 In that day his stronghold cities become as a forsaken forest and as an uppermost branch they forsook at the face of the sons of Yisra El: and becomes desolation. 10 Because you forgot Elohim of your salvation, and remembered not the rock of your stronghold, so you plant pleasant plants and seed with strange twigs: 11 in the day, you hedge your plant; and in the morning, you blossom your seed: the harvest is as a heap in the day of grief and of desperate pain. 12 Ho to the multitude of many people who roar as the roar of the seas; and to the uproar of nations who waste as the wasting of many waters! 13 The nations roar as the roaring of many waters: and he rebukes and they flee far off - pursued as the chaff of the mountains at the face of the wind - as a whirler at the face of the hurricane. 14 And behold, at evening time, terror; and ere the morning, is not. This is the allotment of them who spoil us, and the pebble of them who plunder us.
