1 Chronicles 19:2-5 And David said, I will show kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me. So David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. And David's servants came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.

So David H7971 sent H4397 messengers H5162 to comfort H1 him concerning his father. H1732 And David's H5650 servants H935 came H776 into the land H1121 of the children H5983 of Ammon H2586 to Hanun, H5162 to comfort him.

3 H8269 But the princes H1121 of the children H5983 of Ammon H559 said H2586 to Hanun, H5869 Thinkest H1732 thou that David H3513 doth honor H1 thy father, H7971 in that he hath sent H5162 comforters H5650 unto thee? are not his servants H935 come H2713 unto thee to search, H2015 and to overthrow, H7270 and to spy out H776 the land?

4 H2586 So Hanun H3947 took H1732 David's H5650 servants, H1548 and shaved H3772 them, and cut off H4063 their garments H2677 in the middle, H4667 even to their buttocks, H7971 and sent them away.

5 H3212 Then there went H5046 certain persons, and told H1732 David H582 how the men H7971 were served. And he sent H7125 to meet H582 them; for the men H3966 were greatly H3637 ashamed. H4428 And the king H559 said, H3427 Tarry H3405 at Jericho H2206 until your beards H6779 be grown, H7725 and then return.
