When Jabin king of Hazor heard of it, he sent to Jobab king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, to the king of Achshaph,
and to the kings who were in the north in the hill country, in the Arabah south of Kinnereth, in the Shephelah, and in Naphoth Dor in the west,
to the Canaanites in the east and west, the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, and the Jebusites in the hill country, and the Hivites at the foot of Hermon in the land of Mizpah.
They came out with all their troops and many horses and chariots. Their army was more numerous than the sand of the seashore.
And all these kings joined forces, and they came and camped together by the waters of Merom to fight with Israel.
And the LORD said to Joshua, Do not fear before them, for about this time tomorrow I will give all of them up wounded before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.
So Joshua and his entire fighting force approached them suddenly by the waters of Merom and attacked them.
and Yah Veh gives them into the hand of Yisra El who smites them and pursues them to great Sidon and to Misrephoth Mayim and to the valley of Mispeh from the rising; they smite them until no survivors survive:
Joshua did to them as the LORD told him. He hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.
