40 Now when they came out of prison, they went to Lydia's where seeing the brethren, they comforted them and departed;
17 1 and passing through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews.
2 And according to his custom, Paul went in among them; and for three sabbaths discoursed to them from the scriptures,
3 opening and stating that the Christ was to suffer .and rise from the dead, and that this Jesus whom I announce to you is The Christ.
4 And some of them were convinced, and associated with Paul and Silas; and a great multitude of the devout Greeks; and of women of distinction not a few.
5 But the disbelieving Jews, affecting zeal, and collecting some ill disposed men of the lowest class, raised a mob and set the city in an uproar; and besetting Jason's house sought to bring them out to the people;
