Luke 2:23-32

MLV(i) 23 (as it has been written in the Law of the Lord, ‘Every male who opens the womb will be called holy to the Lord’); 24 and to give ‘A couple of turtledoves or two young doves as a sacrifice according to what has been spoken in the Law of the Lord.
25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it was divinely-spoken to him from the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death, before he should see the Lord’s Christ. 27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple, while the parents brought in the child Jesus, that they might do according to the custom of the law concerning him. 28 Then he accepted him into his arms and thanked God and said, 29 Now Master, dismiss your bondservant according to your word in peace, 30 because my eyes have seen your salvation 31 which you have prepared in the face of all peoples. 32 He is a light for revelation of the Gentiles and the glory of your people Israel.
