Mark 1:1-12

LITV(i) 1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, 2 as it has been written in the Prophets, "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You; 3 the voice of one crying in the wilderness. Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight." Mal. 3:1; Isa. 40:3 4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for remission of sins. 5 And all the Judean country and those of Jerusalem went out to him, and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins. 6 And John was clothed in camel's hair, and a leather girdle about his loin, and eating locusts and wild honey. 7 And he proclaimed, saying, He who comes after me is mightier than I, of whom I am not fit to stoop down to loosen the thong of His sandals. 8 I indeed baptized you in water, but He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit. 9 And it happened in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And going up from the water, immediately He saw the heavens being torn, and the Spirit coming down as a dove upon Him. 11 And there was a voice out of the heavens, You are My Son, the Beloved, in whom I take delight. Psa. 2:7; Gen. 22:2; Isa. 42:1 12 And the Spirit at once drove Him out into the wilderness.
