Daniel 1:3-5 ויאמר spoke המלך And the king לאשׁפנז unto Ashpenaz רב the master סריסיו of his eunuchs, להביא that he should bring מבני of the children ישׂראל of Israel, ומזרע המלוכה ומן of the children הפרתמים׃ the princes;

4 H3206 ילדים Children H834 אשׁר in whom H369 אין no H3605 בהם כל no H3971 מאום blemish, H2896 וטובי but well favored, H4758 מראה but well favored, H7919 ומשׂכילים and skillful H3605 בכל in all H2451 חכמה wisdom, H3045 וידעי and cunning H1847 דעת in knowledge, H995 ומביני and understanding H4093 מדע science, H834 ואשׁר and such H3581 כח as ability H5975 בהם לעמד in them to stand H1964 בהיכל palace, H4428 המלך in the king's H3925 וללמדם and whom they might teach H5612 ספר the learning H3956 ולשׁון and the tongue H3778 כשׂדים׃ of the Chaldeans.

5 H4487 וימן appointed H4428 להם המלך And the king H1697 דבר provision H3117 יום them a daily H3117 ביומו them a daily H6598 מפת בג H4428 המלך the king. H3196 ומיין and of the wine H4960 משׁתיו which he drank: H1431 ולגדלם so nourishing H8141 שׁנים years, H7969 שׁלושׁ them three H7117 ומקצתם that at the end H5975 יעמדו thereof they might stand H6440 לפני before H4428 המלך׃
