1 Samuel 8:5-7 ויאמרו And said אליו unto הנה him, Behold, אתה thou זקנת art old, ובניך and thy sons לא not הלכו walk בדרכיך in thy ways: עתה now שׂימה make לנו מלך us a king לשׁפטנו to judge ככל us like all הגוים׃ the nations.

6 H7489 וירע H1697 הדבר But the thing H5869 בעיני displeased H8050 שׁמואל Samuel, H834 כאשׁר when H559 אמרו they said, H5414 תנה Give H4428 לנו מלך us a king H8199 לשׁפטנו to judge H6419 ויתפלל prayed H8050 שׁמואל us. And Samuel H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.

7 H559 ויאמר said H3068 יהוה And the LORD H413 אל unto H8050 שׁמואל Samuel, H8085 שׁמע Hearken H6963 בקול unto the voice H5971 העם of the people H3605 לכל in all H834 אשׁר that H559 יאמרו they say H413 אליך unto H3588 כי thee: for H3808 לא they have not H853 אתך H3988 מאסו rejected H3588 כי thee, but H853 אתי H3988 מאסו they have rejected H4427 ממלך H5921 עליהם׃ over
