THE BURDEN OF GAY HIZZAYON
The burden of Gay Hizzayon/Valley of Vision: What ails you now - all of you that you ascend to the roofs? 2 You, full of clamors, a roaring city, a city jumping for joy: your pierced are neither slain with the sword nor dead in war: 3 all your commanders flee together - bound by the bows: all those found in you, who flee from far, are bound together. 4 So I say, Look away from me: I am embittered in weeping; hasten not to sigh over me because of the ravage of the daughter of my people. 5 For it is a day of confusion and of trampling and of perplexity by Adonay Yah Veh Sabaoth in Gay Hizzayon/Valley of Vision - digging the walls and crying to the mountains. 6 And Elam bears the quiver with chariots of humanity and cavalry; and Qir strips naked the buckler: 7 and so be it, your choicest valleys fill with chariots; and in placing, the cavalry place themselves at the portal; 8 and he exposes the covering of Yah Hudah: and in that day, you look to the armour of the house of the forest: 9 you also see the fissures of the city of David abounding by the myriads: and you gather together the waters of the nether pool: 10 and you scribe the houses of Yeru Shalem and you pull down the houses to fortify the wall: 11 and you work a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool: and you neither look to the worker, nor see to him who formed it in the distant past. 12 And in that day, Adonay Yah Veh Sabaoth calls to weeping and to chopping and to baldness and to girding with sackcloth: 13 and behold, rejoicing and cheerfulness, slaughtering oxen and slaughtering flock, eating flesh and drinking wine. Eat and drink - for tomorrow we die. 14 And Yah Veh Sabaoth exposes in my ears, Surely this perversity kapars/atones not to you until you die, says Adonay Yah Veh Sabaoth. 15 Thus says Adonay Yah Veh Sabaoth, Go, get you to this useful one - to Shebna who is over the house, 16 What - to you here, and who - to you here, that you hew a tomb here, as one who hews a tomb on high and engraves a tabernacle for himself in a rock? 17 Behold, in casting, Yah Veh casts you, O mighty, and in covering, covers you: 18 in whirling, he whirls - whirls you as a whirler into a land large of hand: there you die, and there the chariots of your honor are the abasement of the house of adoni: 19 and I exile you from your station, and he breaks you from your function. 20 And so be it, in that day, I call my servant El Yaqim the son of Hilqi Yah: 21 and I enrobe him with your coat and strengthen him with your girdle and I give your reign into his hand: and he becomes a father to the settlers of Yeru Shalem and to the house of Yah Hudah: 22 and I give the key of the house of David on his shoulder; thus he opens and no one shuts; and he shuts and no one opens: 23 and I stake him a stake in a trustworthy place; and he becomes for an honorable throne to the house of his father: 24 and they hang on him all the honor the house of his father - the offspring and the outcasts, all lesser instruments - from the instruments of bowls even to all the instruments of bagpipes. 25 In that day, - an oracle of Yah Veh Sabaoth the stake that is staked in the trustworthy place is removed and cut down and felled; and the burden thereon, cut off: for Yah Veh has worded.
