Hosea 10

ECB(i) 1 Yisra El is an evacuated vine, he equates fruit to himself: as the abundance of his fruit he abounds the sacrifice altars; as the goodness of his land they make goodly monoliths: 2 their heart is allotted; now they acknowledge having guilted: he breaks the neck of their altars; he ravages their monoliths. 3 For now they say, We have no sovereign, because we awe not Yah Veh. What then works a sovereign to us? 4 They word words; oathing vainly in cutting a covenant: thus judgment springs as rosh in the furrows of the field: 5 the fellow tabernaclers of Shomeron sojourn because of the heifers of Beth Aven: for the people mourn over it; and the ascetics twirl on it: for the honor is exiled from it: 6 also it is borne to Ashshur as an offering to sovereign Yareb to plead: Ephrayim shames and Yisra El shames of his own counsel. 7 As for Shomeron, her sovereign is severed as the raging on the face of the water. 8 And the bamahs of Aven, the sin of Yisra El, desolates: the thorn and the thistle ascend on their sacrifice altars; and they say to the mountains, Cover us! and to the hills, Fall on us! 9 O Yisra El, you sinned from the days of Gibah: there they stood: the war in Gibah overtook them not because of the sons of wickedness. 10 I yearn to bind them; and when I bind their two eyes the people gather against them. 11 And Ephrayim is as an heifer that is taught - who loves to thresh; and I - I pass over on her good neck: Ephrayim, I ride; Yah Hudah plows; and Yaaqov harrows. 12 Seed to yourselves in justness; harvest to your mouth mercy; till your tillage: for it is time to seek Yah Veh, until he comes and pours justness on you. 13 You plow wickedness; you harvest wickedness: you eat the fruit of deceptions: because you confide in your way - in the abundance of your mighty. 14 And an uproar rises among your people; and ravages all your fortresses as Shalman ravaged Beth Arb El in the day of war: - the mother splattered on her sons. 15 Thus Beth El works to you at the face of the evil of your evil: in the dawn in severing, sever the sovereign of Yisra El.
